2024 Q8 e-tron Premium Plus or 2025 A6 e-tron Premium Plus?

The lease on our Q4 e-tron Prestige is coming to an end. Everything EV aside from Hyundai/Kia is leasing terribly these days (and they have a massive unsolved failure point currently), so we're looking to buy something gently used instead. The choice is between a 2024 Q8 e-tron Premium Plus or 2025 A6 e-tron Premium Plus. 15k miles on the A6, 25k miles on the Q8. Price is the same, give or take a few grand. We can't decide what to go with. Which would you choose and why?

Do you think it’s possible Audi would listen to feedback?

Do you think Audi would listen to feedback about how shitty their new cars look inside-out and de-Enshittify them?

2023 Audi S3 or 2024 Audi S4?

I’m evaluating buying my first Audi and I have the following two options:

2023 S3 Prestige Python Yellow - 43.5k
Single owner - Lease
22k miles
Perfect condition

2024 S4 Premium Plus Grey - 42k
2 owners - first one was a lease
25k miles
A few minor details, doesn’t really bothers me

What do you suggest? Which one is going to make me happier and give me less trouble? I mean, S3 is a go kart, great handling, but 3.0T V6 is crazy.

Are the prices on point?

Thanks

Not to beat a dead horse but..

Got an A5 loaner today and this interior is just awful. Virtual cockpit looks like something out of preproduction. Worst part might be the lack of design awareness - the steering wheel is blocking the view of part of the main display! Literally have to go around it to hit buttons on the left side of the display.

What were they thinking with this?

Rs6 with cete module in show mode

Found my rs6 had the CETE module that a previous owner installed.

I really want it to sit on the ground for a show mode, what else can I do to get the car to sit completely on the ground?

Audi B9 Allroad long term reliability

Hi all! My question is for anyone with extensive experience with B9 A4 Allroads; what’s the general verdict on long-term reliability now that these cars are reaching the decade mark?

For reference, my car is a 2017 Premium Plus with all packages/options available that year. I bought it 2 years ago almost to day with 33K miles & the only things I’ve replaced are oil, transmission, AWD clutch & diff fluids, brake fluid & tires (now at 63K miles).

The car has given me no issues but the water pump was replaced under warranty before my ownership & it looks like it’ll need new upper control arms & a transmission pan (weepy) sooner or later.

The car is in great shape & has been very reliable, but obviously age is becoming a factor.

I appreciate any insight!

Audi Rs3 8v gearbox malfunciton

Hi everyone

I have an audi rs3 8v (2018) and not long ago I was driving when suddenly I got this message on my display saying i have a problem with the gearbox but I can continue driving. I realised that I lost odd gears (1 3 5 7) so I only had reverse, 2,4,6. When I turn the car off, wait for a minute and turn it back on the warning goes away but then it comes back after some driving. Next day I went to a mechanic and we connected the car on diagnostic and I got theese codes:

P175E00: Clutch 1 closes unintentionally

P173500: Position sensor for clucth 1- Electrical Malfunciton

I googled a little bit and basically I need to repair the sensor (?). Next week I am going to official Audi service but I think they will just change the whole mehatronic instead of just replacing the sensor which I saw can cost over 3000€. I could find someone to just repair the sensor or whatever but I dont really trust some random mechanic to do it even tho it would be a much cheaper option. Did anyone else have any experience with this or had similar problem and how did you solve it. Also is this normal for this to happen at 102k km? The car is stage 1 500hp and the oil in the gearbox is changed 4k km before this. Never launch controled it, and I often drive it normally.

DIY Wrenchability? B8.5 Allroad vs C7 A6 (2.0T / 3.0T) vs A7 3.0 TDI

Hey guys,

Looking at 2012–2018 Audi sedans, wagons, and hatchbacks. I do all my own garage maintenance and repairs to avoid paying dealership labor rates and keep ownership costs down.

I’ve test-driven a 2013 A4 Allroad (2.0T) and am setting up drives for a 2016 A6 (2.0T), a C7 A6 3.0T, and an A7 3.0 TDI.

For those who wrench on these platforms:

Packaging & Access: How much tighter is the engine bay on the 3.0T and 3.0 TDI compared to the 2.0T in the B8.5 and C7 chassis? How often are you forced into front-end service position for standard jobs?

Common Jobs: How do the typical failures (PCV, thermostat/water pump, upper timing covers, control arms, carbon cleaning) rank for difficulty across these engines? Is the 3.0T under-supercharger work worth the extra power over a 2.0T?

TDI Realities: Does the 3.0 TDI emissions hardware and vacuum/emissions plumbing make home maintenance a nightmare compared to the gassers?

Special Tools: Beyond triple squares, Torx, and VCDS/OBDeleven, are there any platform-specific specialty tools that make or break working on these at home?

Which engine and chassis combo strikes the best balance between long-term reliability and straightforward garage repairability? Cause I would love to own an A7 TDI or 3.0 supercharged engine. Thanks.

Backbox + Res delete?

On my B9 A5 TFSi, I've got a zaustworx backbox delete fitted already. I love the noise, yet it isn't as loud as I had hoped. The deep purr gives me nice tingles yet I just wish it had a little more hutzpah.

I was scouring the Zaustworx website, and they do a pairing resonator delete peice for £70. I can fit it myself fine, yet i have heard MANY mixed reviews on people mixing a res + bb delete and it sounding higher pitched and tin canny.

Is this something anyone else has had experience with? Any recommendations or advice?

Thanks!

Mechanic says i bought the wrong part

Hello everyone,

The front bushings on my dads 2015 audi a6 2.0 tdi needed replacement. I asked around on many autopart stores for bushkit but they didn’t had or or they were selling the ones from local brands not the german ones. So i ordered online from different state as they were selling of meyle brand (a well known German good quality part manufacturer). I called the autostore before ordering the part and confirmed if it fits 2015 audi a6 and he confirmed it even the website said it fits 4g2 audi a6

I took my car to the mechanic and they said theirs a difference in design as the old one has a lot more rubber while the new ones has a little gap iand will cause instability. I called my dad who is retired a mechanic aswell and he said their wont be an issue and ask them to change it. The shop says it wont be their responsibility if i face problems but my dad says its alright.

Anyone in the group that can guide?

Bye bye Continentals, back to my beloved Michelin PS4s 🙌

I switched to Contis a while back for both my Audis after having Michelins bc I needed new tires for both at the same time, so wanted to save some $. Yeah, never again lol I will pay the extra cash for Michelin from now on, Contis just aren’t sticky enough for me😭🏎️
