Hey, guys. I will spare a long lamentation and how surprise and aad I am that the inyerior of the car is what it is, but let me ask a question. Is it possible to have two circular dials: speedometer and tychometer like it was/is on other car? Right now it looks empty, ungly and I am sure there is a way to occupy this bog screen with something useful and aesthetically pleasing?

Owned few Audis during my lifetime - mostly A6 incl. C5, C6, C8, an S3 2024 and now a Q5.

I spent few months already with the new Q5 and honestly I really love it. Very quiet inside (the most quiet car I had so far), very comfy despite the 21’ wheels, the interior indeed feels premium and well thought of when you spend enough time in it. Driving wise it’s a really good car for city driving and also for a longer trip if needed. I went for the 204 TFSI quattro, it’s enough power for normal peoeple needs, for me more than enough even though I had pretty powerful cars before.
My wife really likes the passenger’s infotainment screen when on a longer trip - despite that many people call it useless.

C5 is with me since 2005 and will probably stay till my last days, lol. Never selling that car. It has 600k kilometers on the dash already with 2.5 TDI manual and it never let me down honestly with so many trips I had with it around the Europe. Fun fact: the original clutch was changed after 512k. Beside that just regular maintenance and one injector change. It’s a fantastic highway limousine.

I was in my WK2 so I looked like a fan boi, but it was too pretty in green with the last of summer's green.

Was browsing today and was pretty surprised to see that new Q2 and SQ2 still have this interior design.

I’m in the UK so I’m not sure if the newer Q2s in other markets are any different but this looks almost identical to the interior of my old A3.

Does anyone know why Audi has kept this older style in the Q2? Also, does the infotainment screen actually pop in and out like it did on the older A3 or is it fixed in place?

I still remember seeing virtual cockpit for the first time. How you could go to the map view and zoom out till you saw the whole earth with stars above it. They used Nvidia chips and high refresh-rate (60 fps) displays for extremely smooth graphics. All that in 2016 was truly impressive.

How far Audi has fallen behind its competition. =(

2025 s5 (yes the one with all the k* issues). Got rear ended and it’s been with insurance company for six weeks. 1 repair shop has already rejected it saying it’s unfixable. It’s now with another repairer.

Got hit by someone doing 40k, airbags didn’t deploy. Been out in the rain with windows down / non-existent.

Damage doesn’t seem that bad but I know 0 about repairs.

Appreciate any feedback.

Always have my eyes on the RSQ8 when it first came out, kind of want to get it before they discontinue it.

For context this is my ‘21 S5 with 55k miles. I’ve owned this for about a year and a half, put about 10k miles on it since, and do not abuse it. Perfect service records leading up to my purchase with no failures. Water pump and thermostat still going strong. Not sure about previous owner, but I’ve been running 5W-40 every 5,000 miles and wait until it’s up to temp before pushing it.

I have been itching to go Stage 1 for some time now and decided to do my due diligence and scope the cylinders before doing so. Man, am I glad I did that. Luckily, cylinders 3 and 6 (pictured) were closest to BDC. Once I saw this, I didn’t even bother turning the engine and checking the other cylinders. The vertical scoring on the cylinders is unmistakable, right? Just wanted some more eyes on this.

I had no symptoms and no reason to believe that I had the dreaded piston skirt issue. During each oil change, I checked for glitter and metal particles in the filter and there was absolutely nothing. I even sent in an oil sample to Blackstone Laboratories, which came back clean. This goes to show that the only way to catch this issue early is to scope your cylinders. Like any car enthusiast, I am extremely paranoid with unusual noises in the engine bay and the loud EA839 with all its ticking does not help. I will leave a video in the comments I took about 6 months ago of what I suspected might be the piston slap on a cold start. It’s very subtle but perhaps you can hear the slower tempo, deeper sounding thuds drowned out by the injectors.

While I’m quite disappointed that I will not have my S5 for a bit, I’m eternally grateful that I did not tune without checking first, as that would’ve been an expensive mistake. I’ll be calling my dealership this week to get the ball rolling.

For those of you have been through this, I have a few questions.

1. What is being replaced these days? Short block or are they just replacing pistons now?

2. How long did it take?

3. Did you get a loaner while your vehicle was being serviced?

Thanks for reading and I hope this offers some insight for those still in warranty and haven’t gotten your cylinders checked. If you’re considering mods that would void your warranty, I would 100% get this done before proceeding. Once this is all over, I will definitely be going Stage 1 with peace of mind. Please feel free to leave your thoughts and offer any insight that I have missed.

Just got a new 2026 SQ8. This thing is a THIRSTY beast! Loving the amount of storage and actually usable backseat since coming over from a Shelby GT350.

My S3 is a stage 3 running E85 and I just needed some help with the spark plug gap.
