There is lots of 'alternative content' to see at AMC. Some of it is eligible to us A-Listers, and some of it is more like the paid Fathom events. But beyond concerts & classic re-releases, there's a new category of special event that's starting to pop up more and more.

Television/Streaming shows are starting to have Events or Finales in the theater. Stranger things did it around new years, The Boys did as well, and Amazing Digital Circus is just wrapping up it's Finale run before it's released online.

Anime and other programing has also been doing this more and more to kick off a new show or season. Beyond the 'recap movies', you'll often see a few Eps glued together get release before a show officially starts. Steaming shows are starting to do the same (Alien Earth did it last year).

Have you attended these new types of releases? If so, what did you think? Do they belong in a theatrical setting? Or is it just a cheap promo cash grab get off my lawn?
