Hey all, looking to sell my SR80e set with the 3.5mm detachable cable mod to the original cable and to both cups.
Comes with original box and Brand new set of pads.
Just checking on here first with the community before I put them up on the usuals for sale.
Pm me if interested.
So last week I went to a local scrap yard looking for some stuff for a project I’m working on and I happen to hear another customer talking to the scale guy and he’s asking for more cash for an item he was only going to get $1-2 for.
He pulls it out of the bag and I see a tube amp, the scale guy tells him it’s only worth a couple of bucks and the guy isn’t having it.
I but in and ask him what it is and how much he wants, he says he doesn’t know what it is but that he wants $10 for it and hands it to me. I immediately didn’t recognize it but I knew it was worth way more.
I dig in and hand him $10 and ask if it works and he doesn’t know. He hands me the amp and a bag with tubes.
I go to my car and look it up and turns out it’s the Darkvoice 336SE and I’m stoked! I’ve been contemplating building a tube amp and this worked out to my favor.
I get it home and pop in the tubes and it pops the fuse.. then the spare fuse… shit!
So after probing around and doing research I order a new RCA power tube and fuses.
I got the tube in today pop in a fresh fuse and it starts right up! There’s a bad hum and crackle in the volume knob.
After more research I cleaned out the volume knob and added the LED mod and also added a couple of 220 ohm resistors to the ground leg and fired it up… WOW!!
It sounds clean and warm and no noise whatsoever. I am seriously impressed! I had no idea these were this good, I had read a lot of posts about them with mixed impressions.
I now have a set of Beyerdynamic T90 headphones on the way to use it with and I think the 660s are next.
Hello all, I am hoping to get a little help from this great community that I just recently became a part of.
A couple of weeks ago I decided I just had to get into my first set of Grado so as one does I went on eBay and found a couple of sets and made offers on two thinking I’d get one and not the other. 1 set was the SR60X and the other was the SR80E, well I ended up with both. The 60 description said the left side was low and after researching I found out about the “Grattle” and also thought it could be a short in the cable or wires so I took the chance on them anyway.
When I got them sure enough the left side sounds thin and lower after gently trying to blow it out it sounded a bit better but the full sound wasn’t restored.
So here is where you more experienced folk come in, I need to find one SR60X driver.
I’ve tried extensive searches and have come up empty handed short of buying another whole set which I don’t want to do, or some knock off drivers on Ali that again I don’t want because I want to keep them original.
So does anyone know where I can find a driver or does anyone have one they would like to sell?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
TLDR; got a set of SR60X and am in need of left side driver that is blown and have searched all over and come up with nothing.
After being a long-time lurker on here I finally have the opportunity to write up my first review and impressions on the ZiiGaat x Hangout Audio Odyssey 2.
Thank you to The Metalverse News Outlet for setting up the Odyssey 2 review tour and letting me be a part of it.
Just a quick bit of info about me, I am a musician and have been working in the music industry for over 30 years, everything from being on stage to behind the scenes. I have done extensive work in recording studios and engineering live sound. I currently work for one of the largest International Pro Audio Manufactures in the world. So, I wouldn't exactly call myself an "Audiophile" because that's just too pretentious but I do know a thing or 2 about audio and sound.
Being that I am new to reviewing on this site I am going to try and keep it concise and honest & hopefully provide the best info I can so that perhaps I can help someone make an informed purchasing decision. I am not being compensated in any way so this is all my opinion and honest review.
So, on first impressions the Odyssey 2 unboxing was a nice experience, for those of you that enjoy the process you’re going to like it a lot. Included in the box are the IEMS, the stock cable with interchangeable 3.5 & 4.4 connectors, a zippered Leather Carry Case, 7 sets of tips including a foam set and instruction & warranty booklets.
The stock cable to me seemed ok, it is better than many of the stock cables most manufacturers are including with their sets but if I were buying this set, I would be replacing it for a Zonie (just personal preference) or something like that. The cable is soft and pliable and not microphonic at all so it does serve its purpose well.

So, the ZiiGaat Odyssey 2 is the latest version of the popular and previous Odyssey model. There have been a number of changes made. First of is a new housing made out of metal with a resin faceplate, 2nd ZiiGaat re-tuned the iems to optimize the experience and to deliver better sound. The Odyssey 2 kept the hybrid design that uses the well-known combination of one dynamic driver and three armature drivers in a dual-driver configuration same as the original Odyssey.
As I was putting the Odyssey 2 through its paces the main thing I immediately noticed was how "device Sensitive" they are, meaning that when I changed sources there was a definitive flavor coming through. It wasn't just a volume difference, it was the individual dacs output that came through very pronounced. I do not use EQ with my devices because I like to hear the music the way the engineers recorded it without coloration and yes, I have sets that are device sensitive but the Odyssey surprised me there.
Bass
As a "neutrally tuned" set when playing bass heavy songs, I felt that the mid bass was a bit transparent even though the sub bass was a little more present so it was a little punchy but still a bit lacking.
Ex: Coolio's - Fantastic Voyage & Harry Styles - Adore you
Both of those songs should have had more rumble to them but there wasn't enough mid-bass to really drive the song but in some the metal songs like Rob Zombie - Superbeast & Ghost - Jesus He knows Me there was definitely more umph to the bass I believe due to the driving bass drum so it isn't completely lacking but it's going to depend on the music being played.
Mids
The Mids are well balanced with some energetic warmth and clarity especially in the vocals with both male and female vocals. The female vocals sound natural and almost sweet and intimate as in Amy Winehouse - Back to Black, her vocals are very moving. The male vocals lean a bit warmer and richer especially listening to Kane Brown - Bury Me in Georgia or the Teddy Swims tracks. The instruments feel like they are nicely separated with the mids leading the mix. With the way they're tuned none of the instruments or vocals feel unnecessarily forward or over powering. Instruments really sound natural and vibrant. Marcins - Classical Dragon & The Doobie Brothers - Taking it to the Streets really shine here.
Treble
The treble region sounds neutral but in a good way where its airy but not overly crisp. Very clear and detailed but if you’re looking for a more pronounced treble head type of sound these aren't it. The highs are balanced and not shrill or fatiguing. I was able to listen to them for hours without any discomfort or thinking I needed to change anything. My opinion is that they are "safe" but fun and with a natural timbre. A couple of sharper songs like Pat Benatar - Love is a Battlefield & The Pretty Reckless - For I am Death sounded more subdued and less sibilant.
Soundstage/Image
The soundstage is not as wide as I would have expected on this set although the image reproduction was spot on for me, I would have liked a bit more separation in the instruments and width of the stage, now that is not to say they the soundstage sounded cluttered, quite the opposite actually. The instruments sounded well placed and there was enough separation to know where that was in relation to the vocals. In Lenny Kravitz - Always on the run, there is a definitive amount of separation in that recording and its present in the Odyssey 2 but it’s not as expansive as it should be. The Height is better than width though.
Gaming
I used the port on a PS5 remote to listen while playing COD and for the most part they were fine to play the game but I was left wanting a little bit more detail and maybe some of the higher end to be able to hear footsteps and some of the nuances during gameplay.
Overall Thoughts
The Ziigaat Odyssey 2 is a very durable feeling, comfortable and neutral sounding set. The price is $249 US and for the money you are getting a very well built and robust shell and excellent accessories that rival most sets in the price range.
Now I have to say that this tuning is not for everyone. I myself tend to lean more towards a V shape tune and even though I really enjoyed them and they are fun to listen to. In this price bracket I am not sure I would look to buy them, that is not to say that I wouldn't use them as they are an excellent all-rounder and I feel like that at a slightly lower price point they would definitely be more appealing.
Sound is such a subjective subject and everyone will hear things differently, so the way I am perceiving this set may not be your experience.
If you are looking for a well-balanced, neutral, great sounding, all genre specialist set then this may be your go to.
I am rating the ZIIGAAT ODYSSEY 2 a solid 4 out 5
Thank you all for making it this far and yeah... so much for short and to the point lol I appreciate your time and I hope I helped someone make a more informed decision.
I would appreciate any and all feedback and if there is anything I can improve on or add to make these reviews better.
See you all on the next one.
Parting with my Rare Limited Run Schecter Tribal Devil that I’ve owned since it came out in 2001.
It is in overall excellent condition and has very little wear on it considering its age.
There is one ding on the front of the body and a couple of minor scratches on the back but it is a 25 year old guitar that still plays like it was bought yesterday.
Recently set up with Ernie Ball Reg Slinky 10s with a smooth low action and no buzzing and works flawlessly.
Comes in a TKL hard shell case and the hang tags from guitar center when originally purchased.
Asking $600 OBO The case alone is worth $100.
Shipping is on buyer and on in contus only.
