What has actually helped you become better at handling anxious thoughts?
I've been thinking about how much of personal growth is not necessarily getting rid of difficult thoughts but getting better at responding to them.
For me, one useful shift is noticing when I'm trying too hard to solve a thought immediately. Sometimes the more attention I give it, the bigger it seems to become.
Lately I've been experimenting with things like taking a few minutes away from whatever I'm doing, slowing down my breathing, writing the thought down instead of keeping it in my head, and then deliberately putting my attention back on something practical.
It doesn't always make the thought disappear, but it can stop it from taking over the entire day.
I'm curious what other people have found useful:
What's one small habit or mindset change that has genuinely helped you handle difficult or anxious thoughts better?
