Attached is a photo of a 1939 Lane Cedar chest I'm getting from my coworker at the funeral home, and I'm looking for suggestions on how to repair it? I was thinking of making the top an entire dark walnut stain and using a mix of beeswax & mineral oil to finish it off. Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance!

As the title states, I'm new to wood working and would like any useful information to digest. I want to make jewelry from various woods. Attached is a Mjölnir pendant I made from Juniperus Virginiana, and would love any constructive feedback or help.

Like I said, I'm pretty fresh faced with this stuff and would like any tips.

Another related question, I made a 3:1(6oz beeswax, 2oz mineral oil) ratio of beeswax to mineral oil to use as a finish and it's very pastey, which i kinda wanted but it takes a lot to buff into a sheen with my dremel stylo. Would a higher mineral oil content be what im looking for?
