Super playful girl at my shelter

This is Millie. She's so friendly and full of playful energy. She has an large, older male dog as a kennelmate and she absolutely loves to chase him around the yard (he's a good sport, thankfully). I'm pretty sure Millie is a heeler mix, not sure what other breeds she might have in her. I feel so bad that she's cooped up most of the day, so I get her out to play whenever I can. She's a great dog, lots of energy, but very trainable. If you want to visit her, she's located at Pinal County Animal Care and Control in Arizona.

Sleeping through fireworks

Just a sweetie sleeping through all the fireworks in our neighborhood. I hope everyone’s dogs did okay! I’m grateful that fireworks have never really bothered her. Halloween with the door knocking and costumes is where she struggles.

What are everyone’s ACD’s favorite forbidden snacks?

My pup luckily never swallows forbidden snacks, but any chance she has, she will chew on anything metal… zippers, hooks, keys, scissors, etc. 😫 why are they like this?? 🤣

Edit to add: I forgot, mine is a mix w some small breeds so she’s short and 20lbs. She hid from me that she could get on tall furniture for months and I only realized bc I left some cherry pits in a bowl up high one day and left for a bit and came back to her having chewed up all the cherry pits!! That’s when I learned dogs are particularly resilient with cyanide poisoning 🥲 as I mentioned in a comment, my late Shih Tzu spoiled me by only getting into spicy foods

Herding swimmers

My ACD mix loves to swim, but anytime I’m with my whole family, she freaks out and wants to save everyone that’s in the water. She barks incessantly and seems panicked. When she’s by herself in the water, even if others are around her on the shore, she’s totally fine. Anyone else experience this or have any tips?
