Hi! I would like to know what would happen to our stellar neighborhood in a hypothetical big crunch end to the universe in which the density of the universe for whatever reason increases to the point that expansion halts and reverses in the near future. Would the Sun and other nearby stars get close enough to merge into a single system? How long before the end of the universe would this be likely to occur? Where can I go to simulate this kind of thing? Thanks so much!!
