We have a deeply treasured Ruby girl 2 yo She is the princess of the house.
Things have been going really well then I see she has recently started going to the bathroom literally within feet of her doggie door that leads to the fenced yard with trip lights so she has light to potty at night
I stopped in my tracks, just stunned. Are the ice chips not to her liking? Is her dolly not in the right place? Was her home made breakfast still a bit frozen? Did I forget the balm I put on her paw pads? { ok that’s for me, she’s ripping up my silk pillowcases}
As I thought about all we do for her I wonder if I am at fault. Is she proving she’s the boss?
She just had her checkup so I know she’s fine medically. We were awake so no critter scared her.
If I made this mess can I claw back control?
I really hope this group can feel my disbelief and offer advice

I see many posts about pain so I thought I’d share. Been diagnosed over 20 years with PPMS. I’ve had all sorts of strange symptoms and early on I found a Primary Care Physician that would listen to me, take me seriously and work towards finding a solution. If you don’t have that keep looking. It’s half the battle
Let’s talk about pain. It’s real and should be addressed. Like most things there is a ladder that should be followed to see what helps. Therapeutic massage, nerve/muscle blocks, patches all those should be considered and used. Then PCP should refer you to a Pain Specialist. They are trained to look for folks that want a specific drug. Don’t ask for anything by name. Listen more than talk. Answer carefully. Expect the pain to be lessened at first but maybe not gone. I was scared for a good while I would make a mistake. And if you get banned you’re labeled a drug seeker and will have a tough time finding another group
Expect to start the ladder over again. Explain what worked and for how long. Please be patient in finding the combo that works for you. It’s out there.

So many discussions about beds and they’re valid but often pillows are overlooked and they are vital. Hopefully I can mention a company that is very helpful. The Company Store had a quiz to help you discover the proper pillow for you and how to care for it.
For many, one pillow isn’t enough. I usually back sleep so that’s one version. But if I side sleep that’s another type under my head and another that goes under my arm. Different pillows for different needs. A huge fluffy pillow should live in a sham imo.

Sooo I think I’ve spun myself into more confusion than clarity so I thought I’d just ask y’all for opinions. We have a medium sized dog door so I think we’re leaning toward porcelain tile for the kitchen floor. Does a reticulated edge reduce the water seepage?
Actually anyone with advice about the best floor to repel constant weather entering is welcome. Even past mistakes may lead to an answer.
I just can’t be the only one with a dog door that has to stay there.
