One week post TT and my emotions are all over the place
49(f). Hashimotos since I was 16, on meds since my early 20s. I'm still waiting on the official diagnosis; I was in the 50% risk category so it could go either way. I'm relieved to finally have my thyroid out after decades of inflammation, goiters, fluctuating levels, growing nodules. I had convinced myself that since I have been on 150mg Levothyroxine for half my life, I wouldn't have the same struggles that many of the younger patients on here have documented. But I am struggling. Between this and perimenopause, I'm a mess. I had to go back on acid reflux meds (that seems normal and temporary) and I'm constantly feeling like my blood sugar is plummeting even though I'm not diabetic. I'm trying to push more protein and fruit into my diet. But emotionally, I'm so wonky. Up one day and on the verge of tears all day the next. Is this emotional disregulation part of it? I'm on HRT and that was helping pre surgery. And does it simply come down to the meds dosage? I know getting the official biopsy results will go a long way to helping me move forward. I'm 2 years post divorce and want to start dating again, but won't even consider it until my medical status is resolved. On a positive note, I can visibly see that my neck is slimmer, which is nice. I appreciate this community very much, so thank you for any input.
