How do i import 2d assets into unity?

Ive watched like a million tutorials and they all treat you as if youre fully familliar with the engine or an actual toddler. I right clicked inside the project window as most of them say, hit import and selected my file, and every time it just tells me "File not found" I usually dont ask questions about this kinda stuff on reddit until it really gets to a point, so yeah its gotten to the point where ive ventured to internet hell to ask about this stuff. If anyone could help itd be greatly appreciated.

2D gamedev, unity or RPG maker?

Ok so im an upcoming game dev, ive been cycling through concepts and the past few days ive been fleshing out one I finally really like. Im stumped on whether its better to use unity, or RPG maker? I would hate to spend a bunch of time working in one just to find out the other is better, so, which one is better? And for anyone who might be curious, its a 2D RPG where you have a damage arm and a healing arm, you have to make your way through a mall of probably like 100 or so different rooms where you have to face enemies, smaller enemies put you into a street fighter style combat setting while bosses remain in a 3D arena with more room to work with. I havent started yet but I do think I can really make this work, you'll also run into a few wacky friendly NPCs, a raccoon who trades goods out of a trash can and a Gothic witch who might give you a hint as to what lies ahead if you pay her a few coins. I have some concept art so far and in a little bit ill start on creating the pixel art assets. Also there will be an occasional mini game if im up to it. Also the mall appears as a castle on the outside and partially on the inside, id post the concept art but I cant put images in this sub, so if anyone could help pick an engine with that information id love to hear it!!!!!

Question about "Bodies"

Ok, so im listening to sex pistols, im loving the music and its one of my first times listening. Im listening to their song "Bodies" and im wondering, is this song pro abortion or anti abortion? Its kind hard to tell. Cause theyre talking bad about abortion and describing a girl who got one as like some wacko loon at the start, but then like half way through they start saying "Fuck that!" A bunch, its really hard to tell if theyre like mocking the people who talk bad about abortions and are anti abortion or if this is actually what they think. This is pretty confusing to me, and sorry if this is a stupid question.

Easiest way to import a character model?

Ok, so ive decided to use Unity for my game and model in blender. My friend is actively rigging the player model. Hes telling me that a program called photon is the easiest method, but im not sure. If anyone has any suggestions, id like to hear them.

Need help with combat and stuff

Ok so im an upcoming game dev newer to this and I was wondering about something: Im gonna have the players characted hold a sword, the sword can be on his back or in his hand. Its of course going to deal damage and what not. Should I model the sword as part of the character as its going to be mainly attached to him and wont be dropped or put down? Or would it work better to have it modeled separately and have its own hit box and just script it so the player cant put it down at all? Also for the first fight of the game youre going to fight a giant all powerful hand. After evading each of his attacks you chop off one finger, do I need separate models for each attack sequence? Like is there a way to just make part of his model (The severed fingers) invisible? Or do I have to make a different model with one finger removed for each sequence? Sorry if any of this is a stupid question ive genuinely never done this shit before. Also it would help someone could suggest tutorials on how to switch camera angles between levels, how to make a converter belt, and pipes like the ones in Mario but they connect to a different specific pipe. Also any tutorials on how to design and plan out as well as actually creating good boss fights would be nice. Thank you to anyone who can help with this stuff, youre literally such a goat for helping if you can!!!!!!
