Has anyone ever heard of a Gospel?
I saw this post about a cocktail called the Gospel. I'm not sure how it would be?
- 2 oz tequila
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- 3/4 oz sage syrup
- 1/2 oz triple sec
Sage syrup
- 1 cup sage
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
In a small saucepan bring all ingredients to a boil. Lower heat to a simmer for 5 minutes. Strain, contain, let cool and refrigerate. Use in place of real insight when the yokels get too preachy.
Pour all liquid ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake like a sheep without a shepherd for 10-12 seconds. Fine strain into a martini glass neat. Garnish with a sage leaf and don’t believe the folk in white coats until the man in the white hat hears from the guy with the white beard. Could take a minute, maybe millennia.
I find sage can be medicinal in large amounts, but it may go with the agave notes in tequila. Has anyone ever tried this?
