Give up on hair Styler curler tools?
I have fine, 2A or 2B type hair. I've had a Dyson airwrap for a few years and I like the round brush attachment for a smooth blow dry, but I just cannot get airwrap curls to stick, no matter what I try (product, no product, damp or wet hair, or almost dry hair). The only luck I had was getting the thinnest airwrap barrel but even then, it drops super fast and is a limp mess with flicky ends within an hour or two.
I then purchased a Dreame Pocket dryer (largely because of the small size, dual voltage as I often travel, and that the Costco version came with a diffuser my spouse could also use) which has its own airwrap type barrels. Again, with this, my hair won't hold the curl.
Even with a regular curling iron, my hair doesn't hold curls well and the only way I can really get something I like that also lasts is with a flatiron. Some googling and research tells me this might be to do with lack of tension and heat on both sides of the hair strand, on anything that isn't a flat-iron.
Is it safe to say these curling styler attachments just do not work with my hair type?
I don't want to have to fight with a tool, pin and curl an entire head of hair, or use 8 different products to get a style to work and stay - so perhaps it's just not for me?
My last option was to consider the T3 Aire 360 as it's now dual voltage and the barrels on it are ceramic, but I have a suspicion I'll just have the same frustrations?
I'm wondering if I get rid of them all and just learn to do a blow out with a regular dryer and round brush, and stick to the flatiron for my curls?
