NOMM v0.12.0 - Switch Emulator Modding Has Arrived! (Development Progress Update 2026/08/16)
Heyo everyone,
It's been another two months since my last update and I'm starting to like this tradition so here's another update on our Linux mod manager (also putting these out out of spite for the guy who said in my first post in January that I would only be working on the tool for two weeks and then give up 😏)
The update this time is a bit smaller because I had lots of personal stuff going on (moving, getting a new job, etc. etc.) in the past two months...
BUT!
We still have some exciting stuff to share so let's get right to it 😄
Switch modding
- Added support for the Eden, Citron and Ryubing switch emulators
- You will be asked for your preferred emulator during first time setup, and you can change it anytime from the settings
- Keep in mind that NOMM only supports "standard" type switch mods (romfs/exefs) and does not support tool-specific mods such as Tears of the Kingdom mod manager's
.tkclformat.
GameBanana support
- GameBanana added as a source of metadata for manually downloaded mods (this means you can enter the mod ID in NOMM, and it will pull all the relevant mod metadata for you from GameBanana)
- Added support for 1-click install for Switch games on GameBanana (needs to be enabled on GameBanana side, waiting for approval)
Bunch of QoL features and UI upgrades:
- Mods can now be renamed to whatever you want
- Games in your library can now be sorted by number of mods downloaded / alphabetical order
- Mods in the mods list can be filtered depending on whether they are enabled/disabled
- Icons have been completely revamped and are now bundled with the app (to avoid situations where certain DEs do not come with the icons that are used)
- Can now go to the NOMM configuration directory straight from the settings
- The settings also now has a little badge that will indicate the currently installed NOMM version and tell you if it's out of date / latest / dev
- Added support for mod summaries (full descriptions can still be accessed by clicking the "+" when hovering the summary)
You can check out full patch notes on our Github.
As usual I want to end this little post with a call for aid from anyone who can spare a bit of time to test out the app and provide some much needed feedback. Last time we made a call out to see if someone could help us with testing Nexus collections support, and we didn't really hear back from anyone so if someone's interested in helping, please join us on Discord and ping us 😊
We are always reachable on our Discord server or on our Github.
