As you can see, did a built in library. This is my first time ever touching trim. The walls in this room are more like a rhombus, so nothing ever lined up. My wife wanted this sort of etched home depot face and as you can see, she wanted this little edge trim going around the face boards and over the top.

This looks pretty heinous. I want to rip it out, but can't think of how to cover it up. The room has a copper light fixture, so I thought maybe some kind of metal plinth or something, but cannot find anything remotely like what I imagined.

Any ideas on how to un-f#@$ this?
