Lets talk about the whole transfer situation.

Okay, let's talk about the possibility of an ADA member being transferred to the Port Mafia, because I have THOUGHTS.

(Yes I just got to this part of the Manga, I'm late, I know. Sue me.)

First of all, I think Dazai would be the most predictable choice, and honestly, I have a hard time seeing Asagiri going in that direction. We've already explored Dazai's time in the Mafia, so bringing him back into that environment would risk retreading familiar ground rather than introducing something genuinely new. More importantly, I don't think Mori would approach Dazai with a straightforward offer to join the Port Mafia, only to later revoke that choice. Mori is far too manipulative for that. When it comes to Dazai, he's always been the type to maintain the illusion of choice while carefully orchestrating the circumstances surrounding it. So, while I wouldn't rule Dazai out entirely, I think there are more interesting possibilities to consider.

Personally, I'm torn between Atsushi and Tanizaki.

NOW, HEAR ME OUT!!

Atsushi is arguably the more narratively accessible choice. As the protagonist, he would be a natural character to follow as he navigates the Port Mafia, particularly given how fundamentally opposed its ideology is to everything he's come to believe through the ADA. There's a lot of potential in exploring how his morality, worldview, and sense of identity would be challenged in an environment that operates according to an entirely different set of principles. And, of course, there's the potential for more Shin-Soukou interactions 🤭!! From a storytelling perspective, Atsushi's transfer would be a relatively straightforward way to explore the conflict between the two organizations through the eyes of a character we're already deeply invested in.

BUT TANIZAKI, BRO. TANIZAKI!!

I genuinely think he's one of the more interesting possibilities precisely because we know so little about him. At this point, we've been given substantial insight into the backgrounds, motivations, and personal histories of many of the ADA members, but Tanizaki still feels comparatively underexplored. His character has so much potential that hasn't been fully addressed, and a transfer to the Port Mafia could provide Asagiri with a compelling opportunity to explore that unexplored territory.

And let's not forget that Tanizaki's ability, Light Snow, is particularly suited to espionage, infiltration, and the manipulation of perception. We've also had Port Mafia characters comment on how well he could fit into their organization, particularly in roles involving assassination or information gathering. That makes the possibility of his transfer feel less like a random plot twist and more like something that has already been established as a plausible direction for his character. There's a genuine narrative foundation for it, and I'd be really interested to see how Asagiri could build on that.

Ultimately, I think Atsushi is the more obvious choice from a protagonist-centered storytelling perspective, whereas Tanizaki offers the opportunity for a more unexpected character exploration.

ANYWAY, THESE ARE JUST MY THOUGHTS!! I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks, especially if you have a completely different theory. Feel free to disagree or add your own interpretations because I'd genuinely love to discuss this with you all!! xx
