Aloha, Kemetic community! I just wanted to share some pics of the newest addition to my home shrine. This statue is so much bigger than I expected, honestly. I don’t know that I’m going to be able to put her on my shrine table unfortunately, as it kind of messes up the symmetry thing I have going on so this may be a good excuse for me to start a new little shrine somewhere in my home. Also, I am still deciding whether she is giving me Mut & Khonsu vibes (which I’m leaning towards, as Amun and Mut are my patron and matron deities) or Aset and Heru vibes. I think maybe once I handle the statue a little bit more, hopefully time will tell.

Opening her up was such a treat- especially since power has been out here on Hawaii Island since Saturday after hurricane Lāla rolled through.. So things have been a little rough around here. Prayers that power comes back on soon would be most welcome!

Aloha, everyone. This is a hymn I wrote awhile back after a particularly vivid dream in which I was seated in front of a shrine dedicated to Amun reciting prayers. Bits and pieces of what I can remember from the dream are included in this hymn as well as more that I added later on. I really hope you guys like it- please let me know what you guys think! Dua Amun-Ra! Dua Mut! Dua Khonsu!

A hymn to Amun-Ra and Mut to be recited at dawn in the shrine of the hidden one:

Praise to you, Amun-Ra,
the hidden one who came forth from silence,
father of the first moment,
whose light shattered the darkness of Nun.
You arose upon the primordial mound,
your rays crowned the waters,
and life awoke at the sound of your breath.

Hidden of form, yet shining as Ra,
you are the mystery within all gods,
the secret heart within every name.
All creation is of your unfolding-
the sun in its circuit, the stars in their dance,
the air that caresses, the Nile that gives life.

Hail to you, Mut the great,
mother of mothers,
she who gave birth though none bore her.
The firmament is your robe,
the Earth rests within your hands.
You are the lioness who protects,
the vulture who shelters with her wings,
the queen who crowns both upper and lower lands.

From the heart of Amun you arose,
from his hidden breath you took form.
He beheld you and rejoiced,
for the two became one in love eternal.

Together you made the first child,
Khonsu, the shining traveler, whose silver
light traverses the heavens- guiding souls
through the veil of night. He is the fruit of
divine union, the rhythm of time and renewal.

Then Amun-Ra spoke from his throne of light:
“Let my spirit multiply itself, that I may be
millions in one. Let the world be filled with my
children, that the hidden may be made known.”

And from his word, the nine came forth -
The divine Ennead of his will:

Atum-Ra, the crimson sun;
Shu, who lifts the sky;
Tefnut, who cools the land;
Geb, the green earth;
Nut, the bejeweled heaven;
Osiris, the righteous king;
Isis, the great enchantress;
Set, the thunder of the desert;
Nephthys, the keeper of the dead.

All sprang forth from his hidden heart,
and through the holy womb of Mut, the first pair took form. Thus the Ennead was born,
and the world was complete.

Homage to you, Amun-Ra, lord of the thrones of the two lands! Who hides himself in millions
of forms, yet remains one in truth.
Your name is unknown, your power beyond telling. You are yesterday and tomorrow,
the father of the gods,
the mother within all mothers,
the spirit unseen but ever present.

Praise to you, Mut the great,
Eye of Ra, queen of heaven,
beloved of Amun, mistress of eternity!
All hearts are nourished by your love,
all wombs are opened by your will. The gods and humankind alike are children in your embrace.

May your names endure for eternity.
Amun-Ra, king of the Netjeru,
Mut, lady of heaven, mother of the Ennead,
Khonsu, the shining one who measures time.

They shine together as the Theban Triad,
binding heaven and Earth in balance,
as it was in the first time,
As it shall be forever.

Exalted amongst the gods,
mother who bore the divine Ennead,
she whose wings enfold creation.

You are the one who gives birth to the gods,
she who grants rest to the weary, light to the traveler, and strength to the righteous heart.
You are she who has made the sky and Earth endure- who allows both gods and men to live by her breath. The crowns of the North and South rest upon your brow, and the uraeus serpent guards your majesty.

Beloved of Amun-Ra, King of the gods,
consort of the lord of thrones,
you sit upon his right hand and your heart is united with his for eternity.
You nurse the divine child Khonsu, who traverses the heavens by your will.

Encircled by holy water, your temple is the horizon of the two lands,
your name endures in Thebes for millions of years. Come forth in your beauty like the moon upon the flood, as the fields surely bloom beneath your gaze.

All gods bow before you,
all lands sing your praises,
for you are Mut the great,
mother of mothers, eye of Ra,
bearer of the solar disk,
lioness in fury, gentle as Hathor,
mistress of the diadem of flame,
Lady of Isheru, who renews the world with her presence.

You are eternal among the gods,
your name endures beyond the stars,
your power is the breath of the living.
Hail to you, Mut the great, lady of heaven, mistress of the gods, whose coming brings life to all creation!
