Goddess Isis saved my life

She brought literal healing, both physical and mental, into my world last November on the 27th.

She came to me in prayer when I was speaking to my old Christian God, hit me with such power and love that I will never forget it.

She’s been with me since too, I feel her when I commune and meditate. I love her deeply, and so I made a place for her in my home, which I’m sharing here.

Hello, I'm new to Kemetism. I recently started researching Egyptology because the god Sutekh (also known as Seth) sought me out, and I recently began working with him. I would like to know How can I invoke him and strengthen my bond with him? How can I connect with him? (Please, I have doubts)

Looking to welcome Ptah into my practice, does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi, I've been feeling called to Ptah lately as I've started to work more on art. I'd like to start adding him into my practice and welcome him to my altar. I don't know much about him, so I would appreciate any help offered

Thank you

Netjeru found in a mobile game called Ancient Gods

So the Netjeru are featured quite extensively among the roster along with deities from other pantheons, like Olympians and Aesir gods.

Do you guys consider this kind of thing disrespectful?

Greetings from r/Hellenism! I promise, we're not here to sycretize your gods into caricatures this time. We learned our lesson when the Ptolemaics screwed stuff up.🙃😅🤣

Anyway, the picture. If one actually interprets that as like a canopic jar, would that be disrespectful, or funny to you guys? I know the whole thing about remembering a person's name to keep their soul alive(assuming that's anywhere near accurate), so maybe it helps us to remember the dead? Or maybe it makes light of a sacred concept. Curious where you guys stand. I'm sure that, if one uses that cup without seeing it as a canopic jar, there's no concern either way, but if one does, what's the verdict?

Edit: so, it seems the consensus is, it's funny. I'm not surprised, but it's still interesting to know.

My Altar For Mother Isis

Hi everyone I put together my altar for Mother Isis. After I lit the pink candle to complete the altar, the flame instantly grew bigger. I feel that she likes it. ❤️❤️

The "Tyet" amulet, also known as the "Knot of Isis," is one of the most significant symbols of protection in ancient Egypt. It is closely associated with the goddess Isis and the concepts of rebirth and divine protection.

You have your blood, O Isis; you have your magical power, O Isis... The power of this amulet is a protection for the body of this great spirit.

Dream of Sobek

Hi all! Last night, before bed, I did some prayer and ritual in which I asked for guidance and support as I strive to establish right relationship with my deities (some are Kemetic, but not all are).

Last night, I had a dream of Sobek that I can’t remember other than that it featured him and he was aggressive/protective.

Then, I woke up at 5:55am

Does anyone here work with him? Any insights? Etc..

Thank you

Drew something for Anubis

I’m going through a rough time right now and I’m receiving tons of visions related to deities/angels/demons that I feel related to.
Anubis has strangely been there in my visions since I was a kid, didn’t dare look at him bc of a weird sensual feeling I got ( I’m so tired of ppl accusing me of being a closeted furry too) . But now I’m reflecting back at it, it wasn’t actually sexual attraction I think it was more his energy and a huge passion towards fashion/trends, something I was really into as a kid and it was that period of time where I’m discovering more about my own sexuality.

There are many more instances , like how I’m strangely interested in coffee and want to open a concept cafe. How I went so far as to research coffee and business marketing for F&B.
I haven’t really made a move towards him in the past 5 years but the last 2 years his presence and visions has been strong and prominent. And I think right now, even when I felt like I’m not really worthy of maybe receiving his help, since I’ve sort of turned myself away from him and still am having a lot of thoughts on whether If I should fully accept him ( I’m trying to see how I feel about how he reacts to me and how he reacts with things in my life and how I can communicate with him etc.) but he’s still persistent on appearing himself to me after so many years, so I felt like it’s only right for me to try to get to know him better.

I drew something for him, as an offering and as thanks for being so patient with me with his own reasons and ways. I heard he likes coffee - mainly the bitterness so I thought why have him drink coffee with more shots!

New here. Left Catholicism recently and feeling drawn to the Netjeru (Hathor, Bastet, Anubis...)

Hi everyone. I'm Jorge, I'm 21 (turning 22 very soon). I formally left Roman Catholicism right after Holy Week ended this year. Since then, I’ve been exploring neo-paganism, and Kemetism is the path that completely caught my attention. Right now, I'm trying to learn as much as I can. The deities that stand out to me the most are Isis, Osiris, Horus, Ra, Thoth, Anubis, Bastet, and especially Hathor. Coming from a strict Catholic background, I suffered a lot of sexual repression, and I feel like Hathor's energy is exactly what I need to heal from that religious trauma. Since I’m completely new to this, I wanted to ask: Where should I start? Are there any reliable books, resources, or historical texts you recommend for beginners so I can avoid misinformation? Glad to be here and thanks in advance for any guidance.

Anubis/Anpu

I didn't know which flair to slap on this, but hello again Kemetic subreddit :) If anybody that reads this saw my last post here, I reached out to Set and am further increasing my relationship with him/getting more into these practices just in general.

Today, when I was asleep, Anubis suddenly interrupted my dream to essentially tell me he has supposedly been guiding me (throughout my life). As I type this my family is suddenly speaking about the topic of Death/the afterlife* LOL. But anyway, even before this and when I was younger I've felt a connection with Anubis. Both interest and a genuine connection. He feels like family to me.

A bit ago I had a small tarot session with him to confirm these things, and got very clear and understandable answers. After this session, I immediately saw someone's artwork of him on my Pinterest feed :D And AFTER that, I encountered a small all black spider that I for once wasn't afraid of. I also saw what looked like an eye in something.

Today, I also gave my first offering to him... I really hope he enjoyed it, it was a piece of a freshly-made chocolate chip cookie/cake dessert that my mother baked. I hear that he enjoys cookies a lot. Please share your thoughts!

*I am aware that Osiris is also very associated with death and related things, but this isn't meant to be confused with Osiris :)

Working with ra

A while ago i did some "spell work" asking Ra to help me establish an avenue for income like a business or a job. To keep it brief this didn't happen for me. Instead i feel pulled to engage with my spirituality differently. Like i literally wake up in the middle of the night feeling a need to meditate to be more present with my inner self.

Is this something common that happens while working with ra? Or is this likely attributed to something else? I'm asking this because i typically do not continue to contact deities after i get no response from them. I am considering contacting ra again but only if this feeling i get is a result of me reaching out.

What are your thoughts?

New, a little confused, seeking community

Hi, I'm very new to kemetic beliefs, and I feel a little lost as I've been getting strong spiritual downloads the last few days that point to Sekhmet and Thoth. I don't know much about them at all, and it all feels sudden and a little out of left field. I'm here seeking like-minded souls and would love some input into what I'm experiencing. Mainly my question is... am I crazy? Is this really Sekhmet and Thoth reaching out, and if so... how do I parse through the intensity of their energy and communicate clearly with these deities?

Background: I've been a devotee of "dark mothers" in particular. Namely, the Mahavidyas. Precisely: Kali, who is paramount in my spiritual practice, Chinnamasta and Bhairavi. I also receive guidance from Hekate. Outside of these dark mothers, I have always received guidance and protection from St. Michael. I have had occasional experiences with the dead and unseen entities, which started becoming more potent this year. Sometimes, I am able to foretell some small things, usually impending sickness in others. I read tarot for others (but not for myself).

Im currently a huge crossroads in my career.

A week ago, I saw a statue of Sekhmet. It was damaged and faceless, but I felt drawn to her. I started having a lot of synchronicities happen. Angel numbers, lion imagery, and hibiscus (which I just learned was associated with her)... I didn't know what to make of it, so I put it out of my mind. I got a tarot reading a few days ago and was told ancient egyptian deity Thoth was reaching out to me. Im a writer, so I felt like that was significant. As I meditated on Thoth, I felt that intense calling to Sekhmet again... Last night, I had intense dreams. I kept waking and going back to sleep. I saw a bright gold light, a mirrored triangle, and repeated numbers over and over. I felt like it was her, and Thoth, both intensely trying to communicate, but maybe I just didn't know how to listen/ understand them.

Is there a preferred way they would like to be approached and communicated with? I'm here to listen. Please share your thoughts. I feel a little nuts putting this all out there... hopefully, I don't come off too crazy.

How to connect more with Month/Mentu

Hey guys, I'm trying to strengthen my connection with Montu, but I'm not quite sure how to go about doing that. I normally just devote my workouts to him and say a quick prayer to him before them (for the strength to push past my limits and for protection so I don't get injured.)

Something about him intrigues me, yet out of all the Netjeru that I follow he's definitely been the quietest, I don't hear or see him the way I do the other Netjeru and it's been challenging to find any reliable resources about him, could you guys drop some tips and personal experiences with him, in the comments below?

how can i respectfully dedicate this horus statue?

hello!!
i’d like to start off by saying i am not kemetic, but i am polytheistic in the sense that i believe in all deities and energies and respect every single one.

i was given this statue years ago when my grandmother passed. i wasnt close to her so i never really cared for whatever stuff i got from her collection of random stuff. i did always like this statue and have used it as a book end, decoration, etc.

today when i was cleaning, i finally looked at the bottom of it and realized it was a replica from the 50s of the louvre’s horus statue.

i had suspected this statue was related to horus in some way but never really let it be more than a passing thought.

i have altars in my home for my own religion and gods and try to take care to be respectful to any objects that could be deemed/are religious, even if they’re not part of pantheons i’m devoted to.

i feel bad for just letting him be something to keep my books from falling over. i have a general altar in my home, though it’s been dedicated to other pantheons simply because those are what my path calls me to.

would it be disrespectful to put him on the altar even though i dont practice anything kemetic? like mentioned, i believe in and respect every divinity. so i do believe in and have respect for horus, i just don’t work with him/egyptian gods since my path hasn’t lead me there as of yet.

even though i’ve never paid much mind to it, it’s become something i’m used to having around. i stopped associating it with my grandmother years ago and it has some indescribable meaning to me. it’s energy is one that i’d like to keep in my home, and i want to know how to respectfully dedicate it, if any of that makes sense.

any advice, comments, questions are welcome/appreciated!!

✨🌻✨

Anubis

I am just starting out and I've been told Anubis is a good place to start as he has a habit of introducing people to the rest of the gods and I have a fascination for the mummification practice.

I would like advice on things for his altar and if there is anything I need to include in prayers to him? I included a picture of the altar I currently have set up. It has to be discreet as I am currently staying at my very Christian parents' house for the summer.

I am also considering pursuing Osiris but am unsure if I should wait or not.

Museum visit + completed devotional doodle requests featuring the Netjeru!

I did say I would bring my little doodles to the museum with me to pay my respects to the Netjeru, even though I must admit I was a bit embarrassed when I was taking photos holding a bunch of tiny sticky notes with drawings on them! There were a lot of people in the exhibition gallery, after all.

The exhibition was a bit underwhelming when it came to content regarding the Netjeru (there was an interactive feature with facts about a few of the well-known Netjeru, though), but it was still an overall fun experience seeing all the different sarcophagi and animal (no human) mummies. As seen in this post, I managed to get a few photos of my doodles with the objects related to their corresponding deities. (The full doodle display is on the last slide, if anyone's curious about the requests and other personal favorites.)

I also bought two blind box figurines featuring the Netjeru, hoping that I would get either Ra or Thoth, but I wasn't that lucky today. Still, I'm quite happy that I got Anubis and Sobek, and I might post them after I unbox them fully in the future!

Full list of Netjeru that I doodled (and brought with me):
Anpu/Anubis, Khonsu, Khnum, Hathor, Iah, Djehuty/Thoth, Seshat, Ma'at, Nefertem, Ra/Re

My drawing for Mother Isis❤️

Good morning all! I don't normally do any kinds of drawing, but after meditating on Mother Isis I was compelled to do a devotional drawing of her to add to my altar since I haven't received her statue yet.
