I met Bastet before I knew who she was.

During a therapeutic psychedelic experience I had while trying to stop drinking, this incredibly strong, loving feline presence appeared to me.

I kept calling her “Miss Kitty” because I had absolutely no context for what I was experiencing. She felt protective and maternal, but also very much like she was there to tell me to get my shit together. I felt her inside me, almost like my heartbeat had become a purr.

Afterward, I started searching for who or what I had experienced and found Bastet. I’ve felt deeply connected to her ever since.

I’d never painted before, but I felt compelled to make something for her and somehow put that experience into a physical form. So this is my first painting, and my thank you to Bastet for showing up when I needed her.

I don’t even know how to name this

Ive realised that sometimes when i practice and spend time with the netjeru, i tap into something way more significant than i thought before. Usually the sessions are pretty strong in connection and energy, and i feel them really deeply, it’s really intense. But I realised that i do not remember most of the things that happen when i connect with the netjeru after it’s finished and i go about my day. And sometimes out of nowhere i remember something i totally forgot had happened, even wondering if it was not a dream (wasn’t jrjfkrjeek).

Is it something common? I would love to hear experiences and maybe learn something new if it has a name and explanation! Dua Netjeru!

Dua Khonsu!

I hoped he like the macarona bechamel…traditional Egyptian food but was made in the 19th century. Also I like to mention how while I was praying for him, I got a sign that I’ve been waiting for and was praying about the situation like yesterday or the day before it after almost feeling helpless because I thought I was doing something wrong, I’d like to think that was one amazing sign from him as he heard my prayers.

Feast of Khonsu🤍🫶🏽

Eek i’m so exited to celebrate this again.

I picked out varied things. His favourite- hot chocolate, donuts and sweets. With coconut yoghurt, honey and oats!

I’m planning on making him some homemade soup later on in the night- as it’s his favourite food, as in his cannibal myths , where he made bone soup 😂 ..

Dua Khonsu, my beloveddd 🥹🫶🏽

I should have named her Bastet

She’s always with me, always comfortable and affectionate, and her favorite place is right next to my desk space for Aset, beneath a screen-saver of Ma’at.

She could sit anywhere on a large desk, in a big room, but she chooses ‘that’ spot all the time!

Apophis asteroid will be visible for 7 hours on April 13th 2029

This is a confirmed celestial event due to happen in our near future.

This isn't like an eclipse where it's way more common than you'd think, this is a big one and I for one am HYPED.

It's still a few years away yet but I wanted to share this with the community for anyone wanting to do something special for the occasion.

Apophis, for those unaware, is the Egyptian god of darkness and the ultimate enemy of Ra, his goal being to swallow the sun. Apophis the depicted as a giant snake.

Sorry for the bare bones explanation but its a good jumping off point for personal research.

I couldn't find any sources linking the asteroid to the god directly, as far as I can tell it's just a name they picked. However if im wrong please let me know.

Newest addition to my shrine!

Aloha, Kemetic community! I just wanted to share some pics of the newest addition to my home shrine. This statue is so much bigger than I expected, honestly. I don’t know that I’m going to be able to put her on my shrine table unfortunately, as it kind of messes up the symmetry thing I have going on so this may be a good excuse for me to start a new little shrine somewhere in my home. Also, I am still deciding whether she is giving me Mut & Khonsu vibes (which I’m leaning towards, as Amun and Mut are my patron and matron deities) or Aset and Heru vibes. I think maybe once I handle the statue a little bit more, hopefully time will tell.

Opening her up was such a treat- especially since power has been out here on Hawaii Island since Saturday after hurricane Lāla rolled through.. So things have been a little rough around here. Prayers that power comes back on soon would be most welcome!

Am I feeling a pull from Anubis?

For a little bit of background information, I am a 28 y/o female, and I am also a funeral director and embalmer.

For years, I have struggled with religion. Christianity left a very bad taste in my mouth, and I sort of swore off religion as a whole for a very long time. However, when I started going through mortuary school and then embalming through my apprentice years, into my profession, I have started to feel what I think might be Anubis calling out to me.

First of all, Anpu has been all over my textbooks and my study programs. I see his image constantly. On top of that, I am continually dreaming about him, along with things symbolically linking to him (a pharaoh dog with golden eyes in my last dream, for instance. Gold eyes that stared into my soul as I held the calm dog’s face in my hands). I keep finding trinkets/art made of him in very strange places—at a tourist shop in rural NY of all places. Not a spot I would expect to see Anpu.

On top of this, after praying to him for a few months, I am starting to notice that my embalming abilities are improving rapidly. My preps are turning out wonderful, and I am feeling so much more confident in my ability. I wear a prayer bracelet with him on it daily now, as I just feel that maybe he is a presence with me.

What do you guys think? I was curious if there were any other embalmers out there who have felt a strong pull to him. This feels really crazy to me, because I haven’t felt remotely religious in over a decade, and now suddenly, Anubis is beginning to feel very real.

Some help pls!

I live in a Muslim household, so I’d get cooked if my family finds out I’m in another religion as I’ve been secretly agnostic for the past few years until I found a connection to Kemetic Polytheism…I’m a 14-15 year old newbie who’s still learning so please be kind to give me tips! I’m working on my shrine but that’s all I have at the moment, it’s uhm..inside a Lindt box with deities Khonsu and Anput and I’m still going to put a few more things, I’m going to get the statues soon and I will be moving to a room where I don’t share it with my sibling so it would be easier for me to built up my shrine and much bigger, I really hope I don’t make them upset by what I am doing.

New addition to my altar! Isis (Aset) statue finally arrived

Hey everyone! Following up on my altar timeline, my Isis statue (by Ebros Gift / Pacific Giftware) finally arrived today. I ordered her back in late July off eBay after a bit of an emergency search—she was way too expensive on Amazon, but thankfully I managed to snag her on eBay for a much better price (around $70 USD / under 1,500 MXN). The details on the wings are even better in person. Really happy to add her as the next step for my altar. Dua Aset! Great Goddess of motherhood, magic, fertility, and protection. 𓏢

An earthly manifestation of Thoth in Brazil

There is a bird here in Brazil called ‘Guará,’ a member of the Ibis family. It is also known as “Guará-pitanga” due to the color of its plumage. (‘Pitanga’ is a small, South American-endemic crimson fruit that closely resembles a cherry.) My mom used to call it “Do Sangue-d’Rá.” (Of Ra’s Blood.) Indigenous peoples used to make cloaks with their feathers. (I think they still do, but I’m not sure.) Anyway, thought it would be interesting to share a bit about it.

First offering to Anubis help

Yesterday I asked about shrine help, and I’ve gotten a start of a tiny one, so I thought I might try to do an offering tomorrow, or Wednesday, whenever it’s just me home. I thought of possibly doing a glass of water and a slice of some homemade brownies I already planned to make, as I’ve seen people say he likes chocolate for offerings? But I’m not sure if that’s too much for a first ever offering, should I try something different for a first ever offering? Would just solid chocolate and not a brownie be better? Thanks for any advice!

My updated Bastet Altar 🪷🐈‍⬛ Dua Bast!

I found lotus flowers near a private pool in my city, and OFCOURSE I offered them to Bast.
Two of the things that I prioritize on my Bast altar is beauty and gracefulness like her energy 💗 Perfumes of course are part of her altar, I still use them daily and always in intention of wearing them in name of Bast.
The little bottle close to my perfumes is gold dust, I use it for rituals but mostly for Bastet offerings.
Hope you like it it’s basically a year of working on my altar. Dua Bast 🫶✨🪷
