I've been contemplating a legal name change (dropping middle names) for years. As I'm living in Canada, it's an extra hassle to change everything here and also any US docs/things, so I put it off, unsure if it was worth it...

But with applying for the citizenship certificate now, I thought would it be worth it to change it first THEN do citizenship? But I checked processing times and they're currently at 24 weeks for name changes. I don't want to wait that long to then apply for citizenship...

From what I see , it seems if one would later need just a name change on their citizenship certificate, it's the exact same process/queue as if applying new? Does anyone know for sure?
