Fatboy Fougère-ish Friday

Fatboy Fougère-ish Friday

Razor: 1960 Gillette Fatboy (7) Blade: Gillette Platinum Brush: Amazon Pure Badger Soap: Proraso Green Aftershave: Brut

Nothing complicated today — just a straightforward vintage style shave with a nice green, aromatic character running through it.

Two comfortable passes delivered a smooth finish with plenty of menthol freshness from the Proraso.

The Brut afterward added that unmistakable old school masculine touch. Not a strict fougère lineup, but definitely close enough to call it a Fatboy Fougère-ish Friday shave.

Cheers

Warm Spice with the Aristocrat

Razor: 1938 Gillette Aristocrat #19 1st Gen.

Blade: PermaSharp (3)

Brush: Omega Boar 11126

Soap: B&M Spice

Aftershave: Old Spice

With the colder months approaching, today’s shave called for some classic warm spice notes that always seem to suit this time of year perfectly.

The Aristocrat continues to impress with its smooth yet efficient performance, and the PermaSharp on its third use remained exceptionally comfortable. B&M Spice provided a rich, warming lather, finished off perfectly with the timeless character of Old Spice.

A thoroughly enjoyable and refined two pass shave from start to finish.

Cheers fellas 🍻

New #77: Cleared for Takeoff

Razor: 1936/38 Gillette New #77 Blade: PermaSharp (2) Brush: Omega Boar 11126 Soap: Phoenix & Beau - Spitfire Aftershave: Aqua Velva

An excellent shave this morning. The New paired with a PermaSharp on its second use delivered the usual smooth, close, comfortable two pass shave. These blades always have great longevity as well — I’ve managed to get around 8 shaves from one in the past before finally having to retire it.

The Omega boar whipped up a lovely rich creamy lather from the Spitfire soap, and the sweet smokey, leathery scent was fantastic as always.

Finished off with a splash of the classic Aqua Velva for a nice cool finish.

Cheers 👍
