Should I even bother trying to work it?

I’m very new to vintage cameras, and I bought this one to take with me on vacation. Now, I’ve done some research and I see it’s missing film, the empty spool and the flash attachment. I would be willing to try to get it to work, but would it be worth the time?

Vintage lens

I was looking to take these in to get appraised. Some of these items look like they belong in a museum. Anyone have any advice on what I should do with these?

Update on my DIY shutter tester project

Hi everyone,
I posted months ago about my DIY open source uShutter project.
I’m sharing an update on it after such a long time.

I’m still actively improving the design including the communication module between the device and computer, and firmware upgrading module. And would really appreciate feedback from people who repair, test, or build camera equipment.

More details are at https://ushutter90.wordpress.com
Source code and PCB files are open to download at GitHub: https://github.com/ushutter/uShutter

How can I replace the glass from this filter?

I got two Canon 48mm filters. While the first copy is perfect, the second copy appears to have damaged coating and looks hazy when exposed to light. Have you tried replacing the glass on this type of filter? I have replaced standard filter glass before using spanners, but I don’t know how to remove glass from this kind of frame.

Pixie Camera? Kodak?

Hi everyone! I’ve been looking through a few boxes and remembered I have this antique camera sitting in one. After taking it out, I tried to identify it, but have no clue what it is. The handle on top of the camera is embossed with “PIXIE”, but couldn’t find another example online. The closest thing I’ve seen is a Kodak 3A, but there are some differences. I’ve also seen a Contessa Pixie, but mine doesn’t have the struts on the sides. Does anyone know what I have?

Brownie Hawkeye mirror

Hello all! Got this Hawkeye with some matching equipement for pretty cheap today.

But is there a way to clean these specks? Ive cleaned the lens with some lens wipes but that had no effect. Secondly what is the blue flash holder looking piece of gear? My first vintage camera so please pardon my ignorance.

Eumigette 2

Just bought this today at an antique store. It’s my first film camera that I bought. I put batteries in it and it doesn’t seem to be working. No sound or lights when pressing button. Wondering if there’s any fix or if I’m doing something wrong. Don’t know anything about these cameras so leave helpful comments. Thanks

Great gradfather's (or his father's?) camera. What is it?

It uses some kinda plate negatives, I think I see? What kinda camera is it? Brand and model? Won't ever sell it and I hope I get it from my stepmother when she passes some day in the far future..

It's pretty, I like it, is there any chance it works? I have a lot of questions and like all old stuff but, unlikw with literally almost everything else, there's no documentation with it...

Shutter Stuck on Kodak No.2 Folding Brownie

Got this new-to-me Kodak, unfortunately the shutter doesn't seem to be working. I tried a drop of mineral spirits to get it moving, but the button doesn't seem to actuate it.

Help with a Doris P

Hello! I recently found this beauty at an antique shop in the middle of Kentucky and after reading as much as I could about it, I’m determined to start using this guy.

It appears to be in perfect condition with no holes in the bellows and no scratches on the lens, just was wondering anyone had any sort of instructional info or old documentation on the camera? I’m a little unsure on how to use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Bonus! I found a very old roll of 120 already wrapped up in the camera and it appears to have been used so I will absolutely be getting that developed.

So that's a Calypso, but what model exactly?

Hi all, I've got this Calypso underwater camera, but it doesn't look like any of the other models I've been able to find online. The protective coating is this seal-skin like material, nothing like the plastic-looking originals. Nothing looks to have been taken away, but maybe this encasing was added later one? Was it something that was done?

So basically: what IS this camera, precisely?

Tamron Taron Eye

Picked up this at a thrift store today. Shutter and film winder worked, rangefinder part didn't but hope it just needed a clean.

Got it home and did a couple of tests and the shutter has become quite lazy and the aperture now seems to stick a little mid-range.

Looks like I'll be repairing a camera this weekend.
