I attend a meeting routinely where one of the AA announcements is to remind everyone in attendance that someone who used to attend is no longer allowed there and all are instructed to call the police and have them trespassed if they show. The details are not shared but it was passed this person made someone feel uncomfortable.

Isn't the entire purpose of AA to find a way to be happy and content? Why not wish them good luck and to touch base if they need anything? Or just to stay in touch? It feels like there is a subconscious or even overt desire for individuals to fail in life and return to the system even worse off that they were before. Is that incorrect?
