How to pick a surgeon?
I live in Texas, and even after looking through reviews for some of the most well-known surgeons in the state, I still keep finding people claiming they were left with deformities. I just don’t want to feel like I’m making a grave mistake picking someone who shows up on “best rhinoplasty surgeons” lists but has people on Reddit and elsewhere strongly advising against seeing them. I just want to feel as comfortable as possible with who I pick and have them be both highly established and have very few serious complaints or bad outcomes associated with them.
If there’s no strong reason to believe there are surgeons outside Texas that will produce much safer or better revision results, then staying in Texas would obviously be more convenient. But because I’m seeking a revision rhinoplasty, I do not want to cut corners, and I’m willing to travel if there is good reason to think surgeons elsewhere would significantly reduce the risk of a poor outcome.
I also want to clarify that I am not just looking for anecdotal recommendations, since almost any surgeon will have patients saying they had a good experience. I am trying to determine the best possible choice, or how to make the most informed choice with the information available to me.
