[TOMT][MOVIE][1970s][1980s] Movie with a female character saying to a male character, "Isn't politics just about getting what you want?"

Saw a movie once where a girl says (to a grown man) something like, "Isn't politics just about getting what you want?" Seems like the man was Robert Redford. So I searched for the quote, and his name, and AI said it was from 'The Candidate' (1972). But I skimmed through the whole movie and didn't find it. Then another search had AI telling me it was from 'The Way We Were' (1973). Decided to just digitally search its script for the quote, rather than fast-forwarding through another movie. Again, nothing. (Also searched the script of 'The Candidate', just to make sure. Again, nothing.)

Later, after Googling just the quote (without Redford), AI gave yet another answer - this time 'Legal Eagles' (1986), (which, ironically, also stars Robert Redford). But the context of the conversation there seems more adult in nature. I seem to recall it was a little girl.

Could I just be misremembering it, and it was actually an adult woman (possibly Debra Winger?) saying it in 'Legal Eagles'? I do remember the man being a bit taken aback by the question - struggling to come up with a reply.

Thanks for any help ID'ing the movie.
