Housing / benefits while still married but no contact due to bail conditions. (England)

Two married parents have had a disagreement resulting in one parent being arrested and then released on bail. Bail conditions say to avoid contact and avoid the family home. At least one of the parents is trying to secure a divorce which is now inevitable.

The accused parent is now jobless and homeless, and either sleeping in car or >100 miles away with friends.

What if any support might be available?

Would the accused count as "intentionally" homeless due to the bail conditions, despite the innocent until proven* ideal?

Would they be able to sign-on for Universal Credit or would this be impossible because they're still technically married?

*in this story neither adult is a saint, but they're humans and need help at the moment so they can function for their child.
