How do I sit properly???

hello everyone!

I recently got back into unicycling after having a pretty bad injury (fell on my back and had to stop for about 2 weeks :() but now that injury is mostly healed!
however, getting back into Unicycling I forgot how often there was pain in how I was sitting? I don’t even unicycle for that long, (maybe like 20-50 minutes usually?) They say to put all your weight on the seat (and I do) but that directly hurts my groin after around 20-30 minutes :( and now it hurts to pee too.. which is really weird… for reference I’m riding a 20” freestyle club unicycle from unicycle.com. I checked a few forums discussing this and some suggested sitting on your “sit bones?” what does that mean? in addition if anyone has any other suggestions that would be great :D

thanks!

Any fellow unicycle riders who want to be friends?

hello yall,

im an incoming freshman to UT and I would love to know if there is anyone out there who also rides unicycles. I would love to ride mine with you. I’m still learning however but I’m doing my best. (i keep falling and recently got an injury so I’m taking a break but will be back at it when I’m all healed.) please I want some friends who also enjoy unicycling. I know that in the Austin juggling club people unicycle occasionally and I plan to join them but i heard they mostly focus on juggling. let me know. it would be so fun to ride our cycles together 🥹 pls dm me 🙏 my ultimate goal is to juggle while riding a unicycle. it would be so fun :D

How common is unicycle bike theft?

I heard bikes get stolen a lot at UT Austin, (to the point where people double or even triple lock their bikes), but how common is it for a unicycle to get stolen? I want to bring mine to campus but it’s my baby and I love my unicycle so much and I would cry if it got stolen. ☹️

let me know, thanks!

Unicycling progress update! it’s been half a month but the most I can do is 3 revelations and that was one time 😭

Hello everyone!! I got a unicycle (free style 20” from unicycle.com) on june 24th and have been practicing almost everyday for around 30 minutes. I’m proud to say I can ride decently with one hand slightly touching the wall occasionally, but whenever I am away from the wall I almost fall immediately. In some cases when I’m away I can do 2 revolutions, one time 3, but most of the time I get to half or 1 before falling right away. I’ve been watching tons of YouTube videos and reading lots of unicycling forums for tips and tricks on how to get better, but progress has been slow. I heard it takes a month to get it down (or around 15 hours total practice), but progress has started feeling tedious :/ (like if I’m halfway through the month shouldn’t I be going slightly farther now?? :( I feel like I spent all my time falling and getting back on the unicycle and falling again. This is such a steep learning curve!)

any advice is appreciated!! thanks in advance.

edit: someone corrected me on my spelling, it’s revolution not revelation lol thx for pointing that out
