yo so I'm a freshman and I literally moved in a week early and tried to meet people as they were coming in, roomed in Jester cuz I knew it was the most social dorm, and have tried to do as much as I could early on to meet new people, and one of the big reasons I chose UT was because I'd heard there was always something going on and also cuz I wanted to start fresh after high school. However, even though I go out of my way to talk to people and make myself look approachable, I've hardly made any real friendships and never have anyone to go out with, regardless of whether it's a party, a school event or anything. I've been researching some spirit orgs or ways to put myself out there even more next semester, but in the meantime I have no one to do anything with and it hurts to see everyone else be in their friend group or have plans for the weekend or just seeing anyone get invited to anything, in general, cuz no one invites me. That also happened in high school, where I knew a buncha people but no one would ever invite me to anything even though I woulda been so down to go anywhere, and i didn't actually form a friend group with anyone until my senior year. I also know my roommate since hs sophomore year, but he's pretty introverted, so he never wants to go out and do anything, which I guess I shoulda considered before I moved in cuz I'd say I'm pretty outgoing, but it is what it is. Anyways, just had to put this out there and see what ppl gotta say about this.

Ok so I got a 69 on my first exam for cs314, and I don’t know what to do. Do yall think there is hope for me in this class if I improve my studying habits

After already giving me my laptop beginning of freshman fall, I received an email from UT for Me a few weeks into the semester telling me I "need" to give my laptop back to the university because I was "no longer eligible" for the UT for Me program. I'm a junior now, but after mentioning this to a friend in passing I realized that the laptop should've been mine to keep. I guess I never questioned it but now I'm especially wondering why they even took my laptop away since I doubt they were going to give anyone a used laptop. I was genuinely trying not to sob that day and now I find it was so unnecessary. Since this was so long ago I dont care to take action or anything but I was wondering if anyone went through something similar. They even gave me a strict deadline and made me feel pressured and guilty as if I was robbing another student of resources I didnt deserve :/ Thoughts?

I have been absolutely devastated since tikka house Indian express in dobie has closed. At least I think it’s closed since no one’s there anymore. But anyway I need new places to eat throw out your recs

Can people that are living or that have lived at Legacy At Rio please share your experience living there what u don’t like and what u do. I’m thinking of signing there next year and there’s basically no info on it. Thank youuuu

I forgot my laptop charger in the back corner of the cypress bend cafe, it was connected has anyone seen it? please let me know, or maybe the staff has picked it up and kept it?

I’m putting together a 7AM UT wake-up group where everyone’s alarm goes off at the same time.

Very simple:

1. No snooze. You have to complete a task like push-ups, squats, or math problems to shut your alarm off.

2. Once you’re up, you automatically land in the group chat and can see who made it, who’s doing their task, and who’s still asleep. If someone is still sleeping, you can send them one extra alarm.
