Is it worth taking Meth 427J after he got nerfed in the last update?

I’ve heard that Meth doesn’t allow take home tests anymore and that the tests from this previous semester were more difficult than before (whole math department).

Is his high grade distribution and high ratemyprofessor rating just because his class used to be so easy? I’m wondering if he is still worth taking for 427J this upcoming fall semester or are there better professors to take.

Is he a good lecturer? Does he teach enough? Are the tests passable? I’ve heard there’s little to no partial credit, is that true?

* I don’t care about the grade as long as I pass, I need to actually learn since diff eq is the core math of my degree

Advice on finding a reliable used car as a student?

International grad student at UT. Been searching for a reliable used car (Toyota/ Honda, under $10k, paying cash) for a couple months now. Facebook Marketplace has been rough, mostly flippers and overpriced listings. A few questions for anyone who's been through this:

  1. Any trustworthy big or small dealerships in Austin for budget used cars?

  2. Has anyone bought through CarMax or Carvana in this price range? How was the experience?

  3. For private party deals, is it normal for sellers to have a Carfax report ready or do you usually have to pull one yourself?

  4. Any other platforms besides FB Marketplace worth checking?

Appreciate any advice.

UTHS Online High School computer

I am currently enrolled in Precalculus B, and I got a 30% on my assignment, which brought my grade down from a 93% (A), to an 88%.

I know this is partially my fault, as I rounded numbers to 2 decimal points instead of 3 as they asked and used degrees instead of radians, they wouldn't let me retake at all or adjust my grade.

"Unfortunately I am not allowed to adjust items that are computer graded on exams. Please be very careful with the rounding and follow the instructions on how many decimal places to carry. I am very sorry about this." - Teacher

Is this something I have to just deal with, or is there actually some way to redo this. Like I legit understand the concepts, but like dang, this brought my grade down 1 letter.

P.S.

+I used the What-If thing that calculates my grade, and I can only get back a 93% IF I get 100%s on ALL my assignments and get at least a 97% on my final...

Is it worth it to pass as my preferred gender at UT orientation?

I’m a 18 FTM that’s about to attend their freshman orientation this month looking for advice from other trans students. I’ve been debating whether it’s worth it to try to go by he/him at my orientation or not. I haven’t physically transitioned and won’t be able to any time soon, I do have a binder but a rather feminine voice and no packer. I’m wondering if it’s worth it since if I go by he/him, I’d also have to somehow explain why I’m being put in the girls dorm for the night. Im also thinking if I don’t go by he/him, If to go by they/them so I at least don’t have to be called by assigned gender. I wanted to ask for advice from anyone who tried passing as their preferred gender at orientation.

How bad would it be to have the last date for Orientation?

I had the date of orientation for Tmrw and the 7th, but i was made aware my immunizations are out of date so I had to reschedule. I could go 15th and 16th or the 22nd/23rd. 22nd/23rd would be more convenient for me, but I know, being the last date, it is likely that a lot of my classes won't be available. I am ECE and this is my first year. Would it be that bad if I switched the date to the 22nd/23rd?

Is my "direct cost" just housing?

I checked financial aid and it lists my direct cost, before aid and stuff, as $6,484k. I get free tuition (poor and Valedictorian), so is this my actual total cost (just housing?). I chose Moore-Hill which should be like 14.5k (which half of it would be more than the 6k?) I'm just confused where this figure is coming from and how much more I'd actually have to pay. Additionally, my financial aid is more than that amount, so where would that excess money go?

Is Transferring to CNS possible?

Hi everyone,
I was recently accepted to UT Austin’s COLA, and I’m wondering if it’s possible to switch into the College of Natural Sciences, specifically the Public Health major, or CNS in general. Has anyone gone through this process or know how difficult it is?

Help I Used My UT Email for Target Account

For information, I am an incoming freshman who wanted to get a student discount on stuff, so my smooth brain thought I could use the UT account to prove that I’m a student. The moment I did it I regretted it and changed it to my personal email instead. Will this get me into any trouble with UT Austin?

Switching majors from Nutrition to Biology

I am a Nutritional Sciences major, and I want to switch to Biology (Human Biology). Is this an internal transfer process, or do I just have to ask my advisor?

Nutrition is in the Department of Human Ecology, and Biology is in the Department of Biosciences. Both majors and departments are within CNS. So, does this still require an internal transfer application?

Please advise on how to proceed with this! Thank you very much!
