Is this super unrealistic or am I just cynical?

Okay I just finished season 1 and started season 2. Idk if I (26f) just have had bad experiences, but I feel like I’ve always wanted to be have close, strictly platonic relationships with male people like Jess has with the guys in the show (though I know it’s not strictly platonic with nick). Yet I feel like every male friendship I have turns into a) the guy wanting something more and then losing interest in our friendship when he finds out he can’t have it or b) the guy crossing some boundary which causes me to distance myself. Alternatively, if guys see I’m in a relationship or they’re in a relationship, sometimes it seems like they are not even interested in me as a human being.

I find it extremely unrealistic that an attractive girl could move in with 3 guys around her age and all of them are super respectful towards her and care about her deeply as a person without expecting anything sexual from her. I’m sure there are guys out there like this, but I feel like shows like this give me unrealistic expectations for friendship. Anyone else?

Garments are harder for short women

I’m feeling very frustrated because I just tried on the new xxxs petite slip garment and what do you know? It almost covers my knees. this is really frustrating to me because I am a fashion girlie, and I want to be able to wear clothes that make me happy. It’s not that I need to show off my body, it’s just that I want to wear cute clothes and clothes are often not made to accommodate garments.

What makes this especially difficult is tall girls are now wearing petite garments, which I guess is fine, good for them. But a) this makes it harder for actually petite people to get the sizes they need and b) they get the advantage of being able to have a lot more clothing options while petite people are stuck with the same long length as always.

Especially since the new garments came out, I sort of feel like this tradition of thinking our bodies must be covered as much as possible is just a culture thing. I’m tempted to just alter my garments so they fit the same way they fit other people. idk thoughts?
