Houston Billionaire buys stake in Raiders as Tom Brady’s investment explodes

Brady owns a 5% minority ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, a deal officially approved by NFL owners. Alongside business partner Tom Wagner, he purchased a combined 10% share of the franchise in 2023 at a team valuation of $7.8 billion, with an estimated total payout of $244 million. Brady's superstar appeal earned him a below-market rate for the ownership stake, for which he paid $122 million, while the stake was actually worth $390 million.

Three years later, Brady's ownership stake has likely increased by more than nine figures, to a $495 million stake in the Raiders after the deal closes.

Astrodome casino? Former mayor floats dramatic vision involving Tilman Fertitta

Lots in here on Reliant Park, Toro District and the stadium.

"My first thought was this is going to be terrible for the infrastructure around the Reliant Park," Parker said. "It has never had the kind of development that you would expect around a major sports complex. And it's an island down there. Where are the hotels? Where are the eating establishments? Where are the things that bring people down before and after a game? And with this Toro District, the potential of doing that frankly disappears. They're going to put all of their resources in building their Toro district on their dirt, on their land where they can make all the money themselves.”
