We have cameras in that town and you cannot get a breath of fresh air in that town without us knowing

Officer who used Flock cameras to falsely accuse Denver woman of theft will face unspecified disciplinary action

A Columbine Valley police officer who used surveillance from AI-powered license plate readers to wrongly accuse a Denver woman of stealing a $25 package will be disciplined, town officials said.

Since Sgt. Jamie Milliman’s false accusation, which sparked outrage over the department’s use of Flock cameras, the town said in a statement that it will work “to ensure that our citizens continue to have faith in our officers and department” and that the officer will receive “appropriate disciplinary action.” But the town did not reveal what discipline the officer faces and did not return emails or a voicemail from The Colorado Sun.

“We believe in maintaining transparency and will continue to protect and serve the communities of Columbine Valley and Bow Mar with professionalism and integrity,” Columbine Valley town administrator J.D. McCrumb said in a statement issued Tuesday.

Public records requests from The Sun for documents detailing the disciplinary action have not been fulfilled. Emails and phone calls to Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office records department, which handles Columbine Valley Police Department’s records requests, were also not returned.

When Milliman arrived on Chrisanna Elser’s doorstep in late September, with a summons in hand, he told Elser he had “no doubt” after footage from the Flock camera in the neighboring town of Bow Mar, along with doorbell camera footage, captured her stealing a package from a porch.

Roast or Toast - New BCS Business Idea

I am thinking about opening a custom furniture studio/shop somewhere in Bryan or College Station. We would make custom dining sets, tables, chairs, and a few other things. Not a couch warehouse, or particle board IKEA stuff. Like nice moderate to high end well built custom pieces made specifically for each client. Price range is anywhere from $1,000-$1500 at the entry level for a smaller custom breakfast nook set all the way up to tens of thousands for the huge custom builds and built ins.

What are your thoughts on a small shop/business like that for our area?

Oh and to preface: I've built custom furniture and cabinetry/built-ins for a long time, and have run businesses before. No, I'm not wealthy by any means, just looking at maybe starting a business where I think there might be some there there. I certainly don't see anything like this type of business anywhere within 100 miles and the closest I have seen is either Houston or Dallas. Thoughts?

Edit: the name of the studio would not be Roast or Toast. This was a poor title decision for the post. I am looking for positive or negative feedback on this shop idea. If you'd like to suggest a shop/studio name, have at it!

Any cozy places to read/chill?

I'm just curious if there are any places I could chill at and read that are outside of my house cause I don't want to be there all day. I've been to sweet eugene's and it seems like a good place but I'm wondering if there are any others.

Rv Camping

I’m looking for a free or cheap place to park my van overnight in College Station. I know there are tons of RV parks but they are pretty expensive. I don’t need any electric or water. Just a place to park. I will be running a small generator for my ac. If anyone has a spot or can point me towards one I would greatly appreciate it.

How sketchy is the Lory of Bryan and surrounding area?

Incoming female grad student looking for one bedroom or studio with option to rent a garage (I need the garage to store and maintain my motorcycle). The Lory of Bryan checks my boxes but I've heard the surrounding area is a little rough. I would love to know anyone's experience with the area or this apartment complex.

Church Recommendations

I 20M have recently moved to College Station. And I'm looking for a church with a strong intergenerational men's group and church. I'm not in college or planning to be so I have a hard time relating to my peers in the area. I grew up going to Methodist and Baptist Churches. Personally I prefer a traditional service and sermon. I would really like to have an active and spiritually fulfilled connection with a men's group of mixed ages and life stages.

Thefertilizerguy.com guy road raging with Aggie bus.

I totally just watched this guy in his company truck road raged an Aggie bus. He pulled in front of the bus and stopped just as the bus was crossing the tracks. Forcing the bus to stop on the tracks with a bus full of passengers. His website says Aggie owned. Definitely would not do business with this guy putting Aggie students in danger like this. He obviously can’t control his temper. I wouldn’t want someone with a temper like this around my house or kids. Dude could not wait a few more seconds for the green light behind the bus to cross the tracks that he felt he had to drive around the bus and cut it off forcing it to stop on the tracks putting all those students in danger.

1 month room for rent?

Hello I’m sure this is a long shot and I will probably end up just getting a hotel or something but I will be attending a hybrid fire academy at Texas A&M starting in 4 months. There is 1 month of in person courses so I am looking to rent a room for 1 month sometime around January 2027 or February 2027. I will not be brining any pets or any furniture with me. Just a bag of clothes, my books, and my truck.

17F, flexible part time jobs that would be good for a school schedule?

I’m going to start beauty school in the upcoming months and my schedule for school is 8-2 for six weeks with fridays 9-4. After that i continue 8-2 on mondays, 11-5 from there on, and friday still being 9-4.

I’ve never had a job before, and I’ve always heard HEB is a great job for students but i also know they may not be hiring and i’m just unsure how many jobs will work with my schedule? Any suggestions?

Missed connections: If you sold a pile of D&B bags to Uptown Cheapskate on Tx Ave the other day, sell them to me instead, yo

I was there today and bought several, staff said you are there often and yes, they protected privacy by not dropping your deets, but I am a true Dooney & Bourke aficionado. If you have others, and I know you must, consider letting me give them a loving home (still have my first two I appropriated from my mom and rocked the 90’s junior high halls with) at <probably> a better price than they are able to give you. If you are friends with or related to this mysterious Dooney stockpiler, show them this, lol.

Sincerely, Baghuntin’ In BCS

Please Tip Your Drivers

I’m a shift manager at one of our pizza spots here in College Station. I’m writing this because I’ve seen a teammember hit a breaking point, and I’m asking for a little help from our community.

I had one of my best drivers break down in tears yesterday. She had just finished a 20-minute drive to a customer's house, only to get stiffed..her sixth one in a row that shift. This isn’t a lazy employee..... she’s at the max pay the company allows, she consistently comes in early to help with prep, and she’s always the first to pick up a shift on her day off. Watching someone who gives that much to the job get pushed to her limit over a string of non-tips just hits hard.

I know money is tight for everyone, but if you’re ordering out, please try to leave even a $1 to $5 tip. If you’re truly tapped out, even the loose quarters from your cupholder or the ones hiding under your couch cushions add up for them. It’s not just about the money either.... acknowledging the effort of the person who just navigated traffic to get your food to your door on time and hot n fresh is important.

Weather you’re motivated by your faith, a sense of community, or just wanting to put a little more good karma into the universe, please consider it. We should try to foster a bit more empathy for the folks working service jobs in this town. We’re all neighbors trying to make it through the week.

Thanks!

Also consider:

Delivery fee isn't a tip to the driver. It goes to the corporation. Drivers get paid 30 cents a mile. They get paid 7.5 on the road and 8-9 on the inside.

If you order from a 3rd party like uber eats the driver sees how much you tipped/didn't tip. I've personally fired a driver and dealt with law enforcement from a driver spitting in someone's food back in Ohio 3 years ago in the store on camera for not tipping. Who knows what people do in their own personal cars. Please tip anything you can.
