Where and how do I throw away appliances?

I am moving soon, and I have some old appliances that I would like to throw out (microwave, air purifier etc). Where do I throw them out? Is there a collection site? I am not going to donate them since it has a high chance of being infested with some kind of pest from my shitty apatment.

Is this german or asian?

Sorry for the bad picture, I was freaking out and crush-dumped it.

I've had asian roaches (they fly) enter home several times before but I am seeing an increase of these critters recently.

Rockville / Silver Spring Apartments?

Hi, I'll be moving the Bethesda for my job starting this September. I am hunting for 1B1B apartments that is under 2200, and I obviously cannot do downtown Bethesda. Are there any properties that's neat to live in? I'll be around for 2+ years.
