identification

My family just got a new rental house and put out sticky traps for a few days as I haven’t been able to tour the property beforehand. We found no signs of roach or pest infestations even behind fridges and such. The third day we found this on the sticky trap. Is it a german roach nymph or some other sort of bug? I have been paranoid about this quite a lot. Any help would be appreciated, the door is a bit loose near this sticky trap so it could have come from outside but it being small concerns me. Thank you in advance.

How cooked am I?

Welp, here I find myself again in an apartment with German roaches. My last apartment was completed invested to the point where I couldn’t even use my kitchen cabinets. Had to throw away so many different electronics and it was just an absolute nightmare. Moved to a new place and automatically signed up for the pest control. Been living here for about 6 months now, and after the pest control came out they all started to come out. I don’t know what to do, I tried everything at the last apartment. I know this infestation can get bad extremely quickly. Do I hire an expert? I already know the management at the complex probably won’t do anything about it.

Flee or fight?

Hi you all

Just got the keys to a new apt Im renting. As Im cleaning, I see about 10 dead German roaches and about 6 alive in the span of two hours.

The place is super clean but they seem to be living in the kitchen. Somehow a few tiny ones were able to get inside the fridge (How is this possible?)

I talked with the next door neighbor and she said she started seeing them about a month ago. She's had pest control a couple times but not much results.

I also have a toddler, which is my main concern.

Should I try and get out of here, or should I fight them?

I dont have much time and must decide.

Should I ask to get my fridge replaced at least?

Rust or Roaches?

Bought a vive tracker on an auction and it was unfortunately delivered in a "messy" state, I cant see any actual bodies but the debris is suspicious to me.

Gpt is all over the place, rust, ants, roaches, leaking batteries, etc

Anyone able to help identify if this is a roach infestation? Going to be isolating it and using isopropyl alcohol in the interim regardless.

Thanks in advance

Handling the roach proof lifestyle adjustment

About 2 days into moving into a new apartment (3 unit building) I discovered and confirmed a German roach.

After one night with glue traps, no further spottings so far, so the issue seems small, fortunately.

The most challenging part for me is not the diagnostic and eradication steps (glue traps, bat stations, alpine wsg, etc). In fact I find that part fun and fascinating.

The real hard part for me is the extensive set of restrictions it puts on my day to day life:

- Leaving no water residue, despite needing to shower, wash hands/dishes/clothes.

- Leaving no food, despite most conventional food packaging and storage areas not being roach proof (the amount of airtight containers required adds up quickly). Feeding the cat will require an overhaul since we previously used an automatic dispenser to handle a good portion of his feeding schedule.

- Overhauling the way trash and recycling are handled

- Keeping the house cardboard free despite most things coming in cardboard packaging plus the need to get rid of cardboard boxes used for moving.

- Any personal belonging being a potential harboring site

- Any food not perfectly stored being potentially contaminated

- Having to sanitize hands and toothbrushes etc often due to potential contamination.

- Living clutter free being no longer cosmetic but necessary (with “true” tidiness seeming like an unattainable ideal)

In an effort to switch from a victim mentality to a hunter mentality as discussed in the sticky:

- How should I prioritize these lifestyle changes? I want to be diligent but not paranoid.

- How do you go about implementing these changes on an incremental basis? This doesn’t seem achievable overnight.

- Does this way of life get to the point of becoming a habit that can sit backstage in your mind allowing you to focus on your regular order of life again?

Is this a roach?

Just found this crawling up a new bag of dry cat food. We just opened the bag one minute before we found this. I think maybe it came from the bag or from outside as we leave our kitchen window cracked open all the time?

What kind of roaches are these?

I’ve never seen them before but have had a few in my bathroom today

Is this German or Asian?

It’s tiny. I had to zoom in on a video to get a clear image. It was dead in the living room this morning

Are these German cockroaches or outdoor/amber wood cockroaches? Found in two different apartments in Germany

Hi everyone, I’m looking for help with identification because I’m really anxious about this.

We are in Germany. I found one cockroach-looking insect in my shared flat/WG, and my girlfriend found three in her apartment. We live in different towns, so these are not from the same building.
In my WG, I do not have trees directly in front of my room, only tram lines outside. In my girlfriend’s apartment, there are trees directly in front of the balcony, although she does have a net. Most of the ones in her apartment were found near the window/balcony area. One was found near a food shelf/rack, but the food there is packaged.

I’m trying to figure out if these look like German cockroaches or more like wood cockroaches that came in from outside.

Could anyone help identify them from the pictures? Should we be worried about an infestation?

Hoping this is an American Roach…

Found this inside the house by my front door. He was about an inch long. Located in SW Florida. Really hoping it’s not a German, but I can’t tell for sure

just moved into an infested apartment building. should i leave?

moved into my new apartment a week ago and have already found four german roaches in my unit alone, including one in the fridge (i've also seen several in the building lobby). the building has 25+ units and other residents noted that they see american AND german roaches on a regular basis. is it worth it to try to eradicate the issue in my unit or should i think about moving somewhere else? thank you in advance.

edit: the living room and kitchen doorways smell like cat urine, which many in this group have said also indicates an infestation.

Found 2 roaches and can’t tell what kind

1st smaller roach found in basement on a storage bin during the day. 2nd pic (dead one under the tape) was in our kitchen but came directly from the basement door also during the day. Not sure what either is if anyone can help! TIA

Are these german roaches?

I saw this in my kitchen when I pulled out my drawer. Caught it eating some advion gel bait I put out since I saw one in there the other day. Also saw one in the bathroom sink that looked much smaller.
