What’s going on across from the Hilton?
Was leaving from watching the fireworks downtown and all of a sudden the parking lot next to Mamaka was swarming with Waco PD. Swat team and everything showed up

Hey! I’m moving to about an hour out of Waco and I’m looking for somewhere to get a 3-4in tattoo. It would be on my arm and black linework. My max would probably be 200 dollars? If anyone has any good recs I would really appreciate!!
Hey y'all, me and some friends are trying to find out where in town would have the best/most fun crowd to support Mexico in the World Cup tomorrow.
What are y'all's suggestions?
Thanks!
Alright, what was up with the booming I heard/felt while walking my dog. I might’ve well moved back to Killeen and gotten the ol Fort Hood serenade.
Seriously, who broke out the (invisible) fireworks?

Allemande Hall is just off Hwy 6: 106 Westlake Dr, Woodway, TX 76712. Your GPS might want the city as Waco or even Speegleville.
Found this while pawn shopping around town. 😭😂
I've been living at Wayfare for almost a year. It was pricy, but I liked having a garage, no upstairs neighbors, and the location. My 1 bedroom apartment was around $1450 a month, $1600 after fees. I love living here (minus the damn garages, where I can hear full conversations and people slamming doors super loud at 5 am, and the horrible guest parking). However, I got a lease renewal "offer" today and they're raising my rent to $1800 after fees. I have until the end of July to decide if I'm tolerating this shit or not, otherwise I have to pay the full new price--which will cost me over $2,000! For a less than 800sqft apartment without an attached garage!
I was looking at The Bend because I can supposedly get a 966sqft apartment WITH an attached garage for around $1600. How is this place to live? Can you hear your neighbors? What sorts of additional fees do they tack on? I didn't see any on the website.
Are there any other apartments I should consider? I have two small dogs and a hognose, so it has to be pet friendly because I will literally sell one of my kidneys before I get rid of them. A garage is preferable because I have a motorcycle I need to keep on a trickle charger so the battery doesn't die, but its not essential. I don't want to spend more than what I'm spending now on rent, and I also really don't want to hear my neighbors (or worry about bothering them, especially with my dumbass dogs).
Hey everyone!
I recently started a group called The Gentleman’s Pour and I’m looking to connect with others who enjoy premium cigars, good whiskey, and even better conversation.
The goal is to get together about once a month to relax, enjoy a cigar, share a pour, and build a community of like-minded people. I’m still figuring out the best long-term location for our meetups, but our last gathering was at Creekside Cigar Lounge in Belton, and it turned out to be a great spot.
Because I want to support the small businesses that welcome our group, I ask that if we meet at a cigar lounge, everyone purchase a couple of cigars from the shop. It’s a simple way to show appreciation to the owners and helps make sure they’ll continue welcoming us in the future.
Bring your favorite bottle if you’d like (completely optional), grab a cigar, and enjoy a laid-back evening with good people. Whether you’re new to cigars and whiskey or you’ve been enjoying them for years, you’re welcome here.
If you’re interested or have suggestions for future meetup locations, leave a comment or send me a message. I’d love to have you join us! 🥃💨
Twin Bridges crossing scheduled to go down to 2 lanes in August.
All traffic on the Twin Bridges across Lake Waco is scheduled to move onto one bridge next month, narrowing to one lane each way while the other bridge is torn down and replaced.
“TxDOT plans to perform a traffic switch as early as mid-August, which includes moving all traffic onto the northbound SH 6 bridge,” Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson Jake Smith said by email Tuesday. “This will allow the contractor to demolish the southbound bridge and begin reconstruction.”
In August, Orion Construction will shift all traffic to the northbound bridge, allowing just one lane of traffic going each direction on State Highway 6. Crews will then demolish the southbound bridge and spend about 18 months finishing construction on its replacement. When the new southbound bridge is complete, all traffic will then shift there, with two lanes going each way, while the northbound bridge is torn down and replaced.
Just a public service announcement. If a strange/unknown man approaches your child in Waco and makes obscene sexual remarks and threats to physically harm them repeatedly the Waco police do not care. They will say it was a mentally ill person and they didn't commit a crime. That YOU should have stayed and helped get the man threatening your CHILD mental health services or medical attention. Apparently yelling about your dick repeatedly to a child and saying" I will beat the shit out of you mother fucker" and other threats to a child multiple times is acceptable behavior in Waco. Just another example of police doing nothing to protect people, they do not care about safety.
Does anyone trade stickers or knows of a spot to trade?
Looking to room with someone. I have 600$ saved up for rent. I'm moving in from out of state July 13th.
Swimming in lakes and rivers can carry disease risks, including the dreaded but rare brain-eating amoeba. Here’s expert advice on how you can swim safely.
I want to start by explaining that I currently live in Dallas but I have lived in Houston and Fort Worth. I also frequently visit Austin.
All that being said, I genuinely don’t get how anybody lives in this city. The traffic is insufferable even by Houston, Dallas, and Austin standards. What makes it even more annoying is, Waco does not have the population to really make this traffic make any sense.
What is going on?!? I get its due to construction but I drive pretty frequently through Waco and this has been the case for YEARS. Does the city not care about highways? How have they let it get this consistently bad? Do the residents ever complain to city hall or anybody in power? Have they responded or made any promises yet? Does somebody need to be voted out?
I also want to add, I’ve changed driving patterns just to avoid traffic and it’s still so bad. I’ve driven through at 3am, 9am, 3pm, 6pm and it’s still stopped traffic. I’ve driven through on weekends, weekdays, holidays, etc. and it’s still just as bad.
I guess i’m just wondering what yalls thoughts are and if anybody has some local opinions or some insight.
update: I didn’t think hating on a one of the most hated interstates would piss off so many waco warriors lmao. thanks for the feedback tho, it’s interesting locals don’t really use this highway the way people in austin and fw depend on 35. i hope to actually visit waco soon!
I just moved to town for grad school and am a huge spicy food fan. I was curious if people had any recommendations for spicy dishes here in town— thanks so much!
There's an awesome new event venue in downtown waco on 11th next to Milkbottle Cookies.
Sunroom Studio transforms into a great event space with lots of natural light and historic feel. They also have an incredible Courtyard in the back with their other venue space called Moonlight Court. We had a baby shower in the Sunroom with about 80 and it was perfect.
I know this has been addressed many times but I wish Waco had a bypass interstate because these 18 wheelers make traffic a lot worse than it should be. Like why are you in the left lane with a 20 car length gap in front of you. I know most can’t use the 340 Loop because it wasn’t built for that capacity A city well over 100k should have more than one interstate. You can’t even use alternate routes because they have construction on those as well.
Have you lost a bag of camera lenses? Or know someone who has? They were found around the weekend of May 2 on Baylor campus and no one has come to claim them. If they are yours or you know who they belong to, please message me with a description of the bag plus anything additional to the lenses that would be in the bag as well.
