Good running spots?

Are there any good locations for long runs in the Hewitt/ Woodway area (preferably flat)? I know everyone says Cameron Park but I really want somewhere on the other side of town. I know Woodway park is decent but it has a good amount of hills and I’m training for a flat race rn.

No success with AAC?

I have had a client for about 9 months and I got her an AAC device pretty immediately. It took her a while to even engage with it, and now she just taps around the screen. At first I thought it was me because this was my first AAC client at my new clinic (had experience with AAC in the schools). But as I started to get other clients, they were all making progress more quickly even though they started months after her.

She doesn't imitate, and if I can get her to look at the device while I am modeling, she just ends up using her favorite buttons or going through all the different folders. I started her on Proloquo2go 7x11 then switched to 6x10. I have been consistently working on "want" and "more" which she will do sometimes, but I'm really not sure she's doing it on purpose or knows what it means. I thought she knew "erasers" (she loves to just dump mini erasers in and out of the bag) because she frequently requested them, but now I think she just uses it anytime she wants something.

The other problem is she does not have many interests (the erasers example from above is really all she enjoys doing), so I'm not sure how to engage her more to have more opportunities for modeling.

btw, she just turned four and I see her at ABA.

AAC with no motivators

I have 3 kids with autism using AAC and have been struggling with therapy because they are not interested in doing any kind of activity and just stim with one toy the whole time. It's hard for me to even model anything if they are doing something like dumping toys from one bag to another the whole time (we've already done in and out). Another kid just walks around the room the whole time or looks at a couple toys without playing. They also don't have any joint attention so even if I try to engage them, they are not interested and might even move away.

I've been the most successful with AAC when I was in a school and could do therapy at the playground or specials or snack time, but I can't do that now that I am in private practice.
