New Antioch Church on Cameron Rd/NE Austin

I’ve posted on here before about The Well Community Church in NE Austin. Before we launch into a commentary about me having a paranoid psychotic break, this case has support from the City. It also seems more likely that it’s the Antioch Community Church Movement, who are currently building out a church near Busty’s on Cameron. Coincidentally or not, The Well offices are in the same parking lot. Much like they did in Waco, these “entrepreneurs” are buying up property—30+ houses out of 72 on our little loop. There is obviously nothing illegal about planting a church, but targeted harassment is illegal. Using construction and landscaping services as a quid pro quo is illegal. I really appreciate all the people who have reached out to me with stories and insight into these folks. They are here to change the very nature of Austin; they’re open about that fact, less so about their despicable tactics.

This 2019 article talks about Antioch buying up real estate in Waco:

Here is a quote from the linked article:
“They just decided to own Waco instead,” the member told me. “All of the weird evangelizing, it went away. They all became ambitious entrepreneurs. They employed each other. They developed a monopoly on the upwardly mobile class of Waco. If you want[ed] to rise through the social and economic ranks, the only way to do it was through the church.”

Hello from ATX. I think these folks are planting a church in my neighborhood. To be clear, I have nothing against anyone practicing the faith of their choice. That being said, the group seems cult-like, and by that I mean creepy and predatory—also misogynistic. It appears they’ve moved into roughly 30~ of the 75 houses on the little loop I live on in Austin. Has anyone heard of anything like this? A neighborhood hijack essentially.

Update: I appreciate everyone’s input and 100% believe these savvy folks monitor Reddit. I have a reporter interested in this story and am looking to see if something like this has happened before. These folks are harassing me so trying to amplify the situation to get the harassment to stop. That is my only goal.
