Circus Circus for two nights? Ugggh

I have a convention in Vegas mid June at Resorts World mid June. They are sold out for one of the dates I need. Circus Circus is right next door.

As much hate as it gets, I'm perfectly fine with their casino. I've never actually seen a hotel room though. If I book a deluxe king or something, can I get out of there without bed bugs etc?

Horseshoe surprised me way more than I expected

I honestly didn’t think I’d spend much time at Horseshoe this trip.

Walked in figuring I’d look around for a bit and move on, but found a $15 minimum 3:2 blackjack table and somehow ended up planted there for almost 4 hours.

Good rules. Good pace. Didn’t feel chaotic. Just one of those sessions where Vegas does Vegas things and time disappears.

I think I judged Horseshoe too hard before actually giving it a real shot.

Funny thing about Vegas — sometimes the places you’re least excited about end up being the ones you remember.

Anybody else have a casino they expected to hate but ended up liking?

Drag?

What is the Vegas local drag scene like? As hot as I was to go to All Stars live a few years back, I really would rather see something more subversive

48 hours in Vegas. What are you doing?

I will be in Vegas May 27-29. It’s a super short trip but would love some recommendations on what to do. I’d prefer to keep things close to the strip. I’m also not a thrill/adventure seeker so keep that in mind. It’s entirely overwhelming trying to decide what to do/see. For context, this is my second trip to vegas. Although my last trip was 9 years ago. TLDR: What are your must-do’s in Vegas if you only had 48 hours to spend there?

Thoughts

Thursday, May 21: The Main Event
Casual Breakfast: Maxie’s at The LINQ Promenade for Fruity Pebbles French Toast or a breakfast burrito.

Pool/Casino Check: Relax at the hotel during the day.

In-N-Out Burger: Stop at the LINQ Promenade location. This is one of the most budget-friendly options on the Strip; a Double-Double is significantly cheaper than similar burgers at nearby competitors.

Monorail/High Roller: Take a ride on the High Roller observation wheel at the LINQ for 360-degree views of the Strip.

Casa Di Amore: Offers a vintage Vegas atmosphere with Italian cuisine and a great wine list.

The Big Event: Head to the Sphere for the No Doubt performance

Favourite MGM property for slots?

Just curious. We are loyal to MGM Grand and typically gamble there but want to try another property to gamble at.

Recs?

Solo Traveler itinerary suggestions/feedback?

I'm making a last-minute trip to Las Vegas this memorial day weekend, because life is short. I hacked together a 2.5 day itinerary and would love any feedback or suggestions. I'm mostly into site-seeing, exploring and eating. Not interested in gambling or shows, but down to explore casinos and what-not. I'll be staying at an airbnb around winchester.

Saturday

  • Morning: The Sphere
  • Noon: Grand Canyon Shoppes + Caesars Palace
  • Afternoon: Roam around the Strip (would love suggestions as where to start for this)

Sunday

  • Morning: Arte Museum
  • Noon: Bellagio Conservatory Gardens + Miracle Mile Shops
  • Afternoon: Fremont Street Experience

Monday:

  • Morning: TBD
  • Noon: TBD
  • Afternoon: Flight home

For food, I'm thinking of winging it, but I do want to try Taco El Gordo, Gyu+, With Love, Always, Lotus of Siam and Lardo. Any suggestions that are solo-diner friendly and not-too-long-of-a-line are appreciated.

Any recommendations or feedback would be appreciated as a last minute solo traveler. Thanks!

Is ceasars palace that bad? It's one of my bucket list hotels

I hear some concerning things about ceasars but is it still worth staying at ceasars?

Paris looks awesome. One of the coolest looking casino floors in Vegas.

The ceiling, lights, whole vibe makes it feel different.
But man… I don’t know what it is. The table game area just doesn’t do it for me. I always end up wanting to gamble somewhere else.
Anyone else feel that way or am I crazy?

Room Rate increased 2 vs 4 Guests?

Was looking to get a Double Queen Room at a Caesars property for me and 3 buddies. The rate was $58 when I had it set to 2 guests but it doubled to over $100 per night when I set it to 4.

Is this normal? Can we get away with putting 2 guests and actually having 4 in there?

Hoping the only impact is only getting 2 room keys.

Restaurant for team dinner

My team of 12 coworkers are in Vegas for a work conference and we need to find a restaurant for a team dinner. We range from early 30s to late 40s and want to do a restaurant where we can enjoy nice ambiance/service, good food, and in the $50-100 range. I have 3 reservations and curious which would be best. Conference is at Mandalay Bay and staying at MGM Grand. Open to other suggestions too!

-Javier’s
-Toca Madera
-RPM Italian
-Other recs where we can get easy reservation??

I’m here to spread the gospel of ClueX

ClueX is a burlesque black box adjacent show currently happening in downtown Vegas. It’s a parody of the film Clue where in the end, the audience gets to guess who the killer is. I don’t want to spoil too much beyond that.

So funny, kitschy, and tongue-in-cheek and well worth a trip down to downtown. In the same weekend that I saw ClueX, I also saw Drag Race Live, Ka, and Absinthe. ClueX was my absolute favorite.

And for $40, it’s a steal. It happens every weekend at notorietyx.
