my 8-page comic about humanity -- I would love constructive criticism, please!

Lately, I'm trying to communicate more meaningful/complex ideas through my work -- and it's HARD!! Please tell me how this makes you feel, if anything. What parts are most/least effective?

The last page was originally the first, but I hoped that putting the potential 'answers' before the question they're trying to address might add a little curiosity and resolution to the experience of the piece.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I glanced at some references from a couple stock photo websites to remember what a baby and a basketball backboard looked like, and I'm not looking to match them closely.

When I try to upload an image of a new painting I want to add to my portfolio, it turns into a black rectangle and stays that way. The image is not too big. When I select "change," you can see the image briefly but then it reverts when I try to save.
