Learning how to deal blackjack
Maybe this isn’t the right sub, but my kid got a job at a casino and he’s assigned to blackjack.
Anyone know of any good materials for people who are dealers? Easy tips on how payouts work would be huge.

Why does he have such an affinity for taking stupid penalties??!!! You cannot give this Hurricanes team PP opportunities.
If you can’t hit a guy clean, don’t hit him at all. Cross checked a guy last game, penalty. Cross checked a guy this game, penalty.
Went to my shop and shot the Wiseguy against the Solex clicker.
Really torn between the two. I’m coming from a UV button 2 thumb release. An index release just gives me a more consistent anchor point and since I tore my rotator cuff in my bow drawing shoulder it puts me in a more pain free position.
Looking for feedback on these two release. I am leaning Wiseguy right now.
As a Midwesterner I love going to Vegas, but have never been during the playoffs. What is the vibe around the city? Do the casinos and bars go all out in support of the team?
I just have this idea in my head that the party atmosphere is taken to another level during the playoffs.
Heading to Red Lodge TAC for the second year in a row in a few weeks. One thing I really struggled with last year was side hill shots. It’s just not something I was ever able to practice.
I’m really trying to understand what I want my sight bubble to look like as part of the shot process. Do I want my sight bubble level or do I want it not to be level and it going in the opposite direction of the hill? Just trying to figure out how I need everything to be during the shot process so I shoot straight.
Shooting a touch longer draw length so I can’t use a kisser button like I used to as the string is just past the corner of my mouth.
Recently put a nose button to give me a reference point and I’m three sessions in on it. I do like it, and I found it actually reduces my pin float. One problem I have is being repeatable in terms of putting the nose button in the same spot on the tip of my nose every shot. I come to full draw, and then move my nose to the button. I don’t think I’m doing a good job of putting it in the same spot though, so it’s creating inconsistency in my shooting. Likewise my nose is on the shorter side so I have a I have to tilt my head quite a bit to get the tip of my nose to touch. Like the amount I have to crane my head around is uncomfortable so it messes me up some.
I actually find I have to tilt my head less if I let the nose button touch more of the side of the tip of my nose vs directly on the tip. I guess should I be more concerned with just being able to be consistent and repeatable regardless where it touches my nose over the nose button having to touch the tip of my nose.
Recently had the launcher on my QAD MX2 break. Luckily I was at my shop and they just swapped on a new one as part of the QAD warranty. For those that run limb driven rests, do you have any worry that the rest activation cord is going to get caught on anything or are the chances of it getting caught on something just as high as with a cable driven rest.
For context I'm just a WI whitetaile tree stand hunter, but I do shoot a lot of 3D including TAC events. I think that cord getting caught on branches or something like that is the biggest reason why I don't shoot a Hamskea or something similar to it.
I hunt private land so there is no need to take stuff down at the end of the season like stands, climbing sticks, bow hangers, safety straps, lifelines, etc.
How many of you just leave all of it up in the tree during the summer? Is there any importance to taking it down during the summer months just to have to re-hang all of it before the season, especially if it's just going up the same tree as the year before.
