A bar right now that isn’t playing the game that’s cheap near hilltop/stadium?

I’m trying to find a not crazy crowded bar just want to chill alone somewhere. Does every bar plan the game?

Hard time getting housing

Hello Tacoma, I am moving to the area (or trying to) to be with my partner! I am moving from Colorado and she is already living and working in Tacoma. We have had a hard time finding and getting approved for housing in Tacoma. Basically we’ve applied to a couple spots and lost them to other applicants for no reason other than they had applied before us. This last place we applied to on the other hand, reached out and asked for proof of employment in Tacoma, a valid request just not something I have yet. I am a carpenter and have better luck finding work physically when I am there in location than online and that has proven to be a challenge for our housing situation. I have some temporary work through family and friends to pay the bills for the first couple months while I look for something more long term but if we can’t get a place to rent to us since I don’t have a job…..well I’ll never be able to move and get a job!!!

We’re looking for a 2-3 bedroom house with a garage, we have a cat and a bunny. We are in our late 20s, don’t smoke or party. Would like to be in a walkable neighborhood to take part of the many fun things to do in Tacoma. We enjoy gardening and taking care of the yard. As I said I’m a carpenter and would be happy to take care of odd jobs around the house.

If anyone has advice on how to rent from real people instead of just management companies that would be helpful! All we have done is look on Zillow so far and it hasn’t proved to be that great so far. If anyone has advice on looking for trades work from afar or knows anyone looking for a carpenter I would be very grateful! Looking forward to becoming part of this community.

Found White Husky near Tacoma train tracks near 56th street by Stewart Park

If anyone is looking for her, she will be at the Tacoma Humane Society

Soccer ⚽️ fans all around!

Been a USMNT fan for years and USA vs. Belgium was exactly the kind of match I’d been waiting to see live and grabbed 4 tickets to Lumen Field on Monday July 6th as soon as they were available. Then a family health situation hit us out of nowhere and now we’re not going to make it.

Can’t stand the thought of these going to waste. Would much rather they end up with someone who’s going to be loud, passionate, and fully in it from kickoff.

Selling at face value, no markup. All 4 or happy to split.

Feel free to reach out with your phone number if you want in! 🇺🇸

Seeing fireworks instead of being mad

Let’s say I want to try something different and instead of hunkering down with the windows shut and being mad all night, I choose to go outside and see all these fireworks. I’m near St Joes/McCarver Park. Where is the nearest view point?

What's that BOOM!? -and Holiday Wishes.

It will probably be fireworks as people celebrate Independence Day.

We here at r/TacomaWA understand fireworks bother some folks, and delight others. We expect the folks bothered by them have likely taken what steps they can to mitigate the noise and prepare to get through it. The upside is, it will be over soon.

If you wish to discuss this topic, take a look at the rules and keep it civil.

We wish you a happy holiday, however you celebrate.

Anyone else still running the factory

Mine have been okay, but after a few muddy trips I'm starting to wonder if it's worth upgrading. Curious what everyone else is using.

Missed connection - church cantina?

I know this is an absolute long shot....BUTTTT I am the gentleman who was sitting outside with a group of friends with spiky blue hair and short sleeve button up, you were accompanying a person and had long dark hair, black leather jacket and gorgeous eyes which locked with mine a few times as you were going in.

I was watching drinks and valuables at the table and could not follow you in unfortunately, but definitely curious.

Please help Caelick's family

I know this is a last minute request, as soon as I saw this i came to post it. You may not care or aren't up to date about the situation. Caelick (K-lick) was found and they determined he was murdered. They arrested 2 people yesterday (Wednesday 7/1). He has no family in the region, so we need people to help support him & his family by being present. Please don't let the court room be empty! If you are able to be there, please be respectful. Let's get him proper justice!!

Tacoma Mayor Anders Ibsen AMA

Hi everyone, Tacoma Mayor Anders Ibsen here. (Yep, actually me, not a staffer.) As part of the start of my administration in my first year, I’m doing my best to be community-facing and accessible.

So to start off my first foray into the Tacoma Reddit territory, I would like to offer an AMA for the next 24 hours. Feel free to inquire about anything, and I will do my best to get you that information.

For technical questions, service requests, or information I might not know off-hand, I will refer you to my city email and we can talk off-line with the appropriate city staff to help you.

Finally, moving forward as a general rule, while I do not have capacity to actively peruse this sub, I will do my best to make postings here about pertinent topics as they come up, and respond accordingly in those posts. In between those, you’re always welcome to reach me via email, or out in community.

Let the questions commence!

Best off-road tires for Toyota Tacoma that still feel decent on highways?

I’m due for new tires and trying to figure out what actually makes sense for my Tacoma. It’s my daily driver most of the week, mostly highway and city commuting, but on weekends I’m usually out on gravel roads, forest service roads, muddy access roads, and light trails for camping and getting out into the mountains. Nothing extreme, just enough that I want more confidence when the pavement ends.

I’m not building a dedicated off-road rig, but I also don’t want something that feels sketchy off pavement or annoying to live with during the week.

For those who’ve been in the same spot, how did you decide between all-terrains and mud-terrains in real use? How did it affect road noise, MPG, tread life, and wet pavement performance? If you went up in tire size, did you run into rubbing or need a lift or trimming?

Looking back, would you stick with your setup or change anything?
