Conflict of interest

Mostly wanting to vent! I live in Washington state for reference. My husband and I both work for the same company, it’s a chain restaurant and we didn’t work at the same location and his supervisor arranged the job for me. About 6 months into me working the position my husband was offered a promotion making him an indirect supervisor over me (he is my bosses boss now, but isn’t in the same location. He over sees a group of restaurants and I work as a crew member in one of the locations.
His new supervisor knew about my employment details and brought it up multiple times without mentioning any issue.
When the job was offered to him he was informed that I would have to transfer out of his patch completely, which is about 35 minutes away without traffic. This causes a burden for me as I pickup my kids from school after work and need to work close to the school. I also am participating in the company’s tuition reimbursement program, so I will lose that benefit if I don’t transfer.

The reasoning is a conflict of interest, which I can understand. My issue is with how the situation has been handled. First red flag for me was that his supervisor acknowledged my position and location multiple times without mentioning any conflict, making it difficult to discuss. Another reason I’m conflicted is that nobody from the company has discussed anything with me directly. The expectation has been that my husband is to communicate with me regarding the situation.
My direct boss was informed about the situation but was explicitly told not to bring it up until I do. Also the company had to redistribute stores among patches to accommodate for the new hires and they still placed the store I work at in my husband’s patch.

I’m frustrated, I’ve been a really good employee and it feels like I’m being punished and talked about but nobody will even talk to me.
I’ve never called out or missed a shift, always show up on time, I’m good at my job, and the location I work at doesn’t want to lose me. The store is really understaffed right now and I’ve been coming in on my days off when there’s only one person there to open the location alone. I feel like I’ve really put a lot of effort and dedication into this location and company. It sucks that I don’t have any protection here since it’s a at will state.

Anyone else had a terrible experience at the Hilton resort in Oahu?
Our stay has been incredibly frustrating. Basic things just don’t work—online ordering fails, we have resort credits we can’t use, and none of the restaurants can charge to our room even though the front desk insists it should be possible.
On top of that, everything comes with an extra fee… even using a microwave.
While we’ve had great interactions with other guests, the staff experience has been really disappointing. There’s little to no customer service, and no one seems able to provide clear answers. At one point, we asked if we could use the stairs, and four different staff members—including a service worker—couldn’t tell us.
More than half the elevators are out of service, which means 15–20 people waiting at a time with no alternative. The water in our room doesn’t get hot, several outlets don’t work, and the WiFi cuts in and out constantly.
Honestly, the constant add-on fees wouldn’t bother me as much if the experience itself was enjoyable—but it’s not. It’s exhausting feeling like a burden just trying to get basic needs met, especially after spending over $5,000.
At this price point, I’d expect at least the basics—like a coffee maker, microwave, fridge… and more than one towel per person.
