Lost dog on the north east side. He has medical needs

Hi everyone! My friends dog got out last night and was scared from fireworks. Someone picked him up but said that he escaped again. He is 17 years old, his name is goofy, and he is on medications. Please contact me if anyone sees him. He was last seen on briarwick st in the northern hills neighborhood. Please be on the lookout for out for this sweet boy. My friend is devastated.

Edit to add, he is also deaf. I forgot to add that

Who Was the Famous Guest Today at the Hotel Emma?

We were just about to walk in front of the Hotel Emma when we were stopped by several well-dressed security/bodyguards telling us to “walk around, as an important guest was coming out”. There were quite a few nice Mercedes vehicles parked up front waiting as well. Anyone know who it could have been?

The number of animals lost on the 4th in SA is always astounding.

The attached pictures are some of the screenshots I took off of Nextdoor in about five minutes of scrolling. These aren’t even including shared posts from sites like Pawboost.

July 4th happens every year, so it’s not like we didn’t have time to prepare. We need to do better as a city.

Expected more

For the 250, I thought the fireworks would be more extravagant. I've seen better shows at Friday night baseball games on a regular day. Oh well.

Six Flags Fiesta finally putting the fireworks up at … 11:30PM

Don’t know why this was their strategy for 250 years. Probably the most disappointing 4th I’ve seen from them.

Where can I find good Char Siu pork in the city?

I see a lot of restaurants have pork dishes but not Char Siu. I’m looking for that distinctly red sauce, sliced pork. Not the spareribs.

Why was the city so packed tonight for the 4th? Every single hotel was booked.

Other than the Kanye concert, why were there so many people in San Antonio tonight? What all was going on that made so many people come here?

I usually never have an issue getting a same day hotel, but today it was impossible. I called multiple places and they were all booked.

Car Break Ins

If you left your car over night at any of the parking lots over at the Eilan Terrace Plaza by La Cantera. Contact me I was there at 4am and was the first to submit a police report. They smashed passer side door windows and as far as the fire Marshall said at least one car had a firework grenade go off in the car, no fire from what they told me, but they did make off with stuff in my car so they may have gotten others PM if anyone else got hit

People who moved from elsewhere: how long did it take to get comfortable driving?

Hello, I am moving to San Antonio at the end of the month and doing a commute from Southtown to Alamo Ranch daily. I do understand this is not a short commute but it seems to be mostly highway driving which I am generally comfortable with.

that said, I am moving from Brownsville which is a much smaller city. I consider myself a decent driver but I am finding navigating these highways pretty stressful at the moment.

anyone who moved from another city to San Antoni, how long did it take to adjust to the highway system and feel comfortable driving?

Unless you are an active member of this sub, you can't post your Ye tickets on here.

Read the rules and especially rule 4.

If you repeatedly try to post tickets for sale, you will be banned.

If you see someone selling tickets, please report them. We are celebrating the 4th as well and we need several reports to get an alarm on our phone.

Where can I get a basic bike tune up for a reasonable price?

I recently got into cycling, and I bought a preassembled Walmart Ozark Trail G. 1 Explorer as a starter bike. I heard it's best to get a basic tune up at a local bike shop. I've noticed some obvious issues with my bike already. There's chain rub on the front derailleur, and my chain falls down to the smaller sprocket by itself when I shift to the largest sprocket. Are these issues that can be fixed with a tune up? I've been eager to continue riding, but I want to ensure my bike works properly. Where can I get a basic bike tune up for a reasonable price?
