Does anyone feel pretty lonely?

Often I feel like I am alone here. I am 33 not married and have no kids. I have a partner that is always so unhappy and stressed that I feel like I can't share anything with him. We don't have much in common anymore, but at 33 it does not seem likely I will find anyone else who is around my age, single, and moderately successful or get a chance to have kids. I know people say to go and join clubs and such, I just don't know if I am brave enough. I am an introvert that likes the hobbies of a 75 year old grandma. Does anyone else have this feeling? They have to stick with what they have because there is nothing else?

New hobbies in SA?

Hey folks! Ive lived in San Antonio for the past 4 years and I recently found myself in a situation where I don’t need to be employed and I have a lot of free time during the day and have no idea what to do with myself. I can only spend so many more days watching Netflix before I lose my mind. I don’t have really any friends in town and I’m looking to get into some day time hobbies to meet some people and have fun! Any suggestions for a guy in his early 30s? Not SUPER interested in sports, prior military, video game enthusiast, but just bored of being permanently at home.

Free resource vending machine !!!

Have y’all seen this free resource vending machine outside of San antonio cultural arts (2120 El Paso St, San Antonio, TX 78207) ??? found out this was placed here by a harm reduction mutual aid group in town called 1upSA and they collaborate with other mutual aid groups in town to stock it with free resources like narcan, first aid kits, hygiene items, and menstrual products! pretty cool. definitely something amazing for west side underserved neighborhoods that we could use more of everywhere in SA :)

Two sad truths about San Antonio

  1. The worst drivers in Texas

  2. The worst dog owners in Texas

Maybe worst in America for both...

In desperate need of housing help/leads in SA for a mom of babies (recently displaced, low income)

Hey everyone, I’m posting here because I am running out of options and desperate to find a safe, stable space for my kids.
Up until recently, I was a stay-at-home mom. Due to a sudden breakup, my children and I were displaced. Right now, we are staying with a relative, but the space is incredibly cramped and all of us are forced to share a single twin bed. It is completely unsustainable, and I need to find a place for us ASAP.
Because I was a SAHM, my current stable income is very low (around $500/month in child support). I am actively working on building up my own independent income, but finding a place in the meantime is a massive hurdle. Most "low-income" tax credit apartments still charge over $1,100 a month and require you to make 3x the rent to qualify.I am looking for immediate local resources, private landlords willing to work with a situation like mine, or tips on how to get an emergency override for true income-based housing (where rent is tied to 30% of your actual income) in San Antonio. Are there specific rapid rehousing programs, family case managers, or local organizations that actually help move families quickly when they are in an immediate crisis?
Any leads, advice, or phone numbers would mean the world to us right now. Thank you so much.

TNR-ing the outdoor/stray cats at my apt complex?

There are at least 4 cats that I see outside my building of my apartment complex somewhat regularly. I dont know if any of them are fixed, but I’m almost certain one was pregnant because she no longer looks horizontally distended in her belly. She looked just about ready to pop when I first moved in a few weeks ago. I don’t know if any are outdoor cats that belong to someone or true strays.

That being said, what are the ethics of getting a TNR situation happen? Momma presumably had her babies or got dewormed, leaning towards babies. In my opinion, outdoor cats aren’t considered solely one person’s pets. They live and know the environment outside, and affect it similarly as true strays (negatively). They likely get attention from a lot of other tenants too because cmon they’re practically neighbors. I am the biggest cat lover and animal activist you could reasonably meet and if you have an outdoor cat to prevent even more strays that mess up the environment (*list all sources ever), they need to be fixed. I’ve heard some fighting very loudly at night, and seen two of them fighting once. I’ve also seen one literally in the tree right outside my balcony trying to catch a bird

I35 going North

Anyone on the NE side drive up to New Braunfels for work?

I'm looking at a potential job opportunity and I'm curious how the commute may be, especially with the construction. I'm coming from Converse, right off 1604 close to I10.

Looking for Boulders

I’m a local rock climber and love the outdoors. I’ve exhausted a lot of the local outdoor climbing spots and want to try new stuff. If anybody knows spots that aren’t on Mountain Project, let me know. If you’ve ever been hiking or biking, seen some rocks and thought, “Someone might like to climb that.” I AM THAT SOMEONE.
