It is named Central Texas Vertebrate Society (CTXVS)

Please join us August 1st for our first little meeting, and feel free to invite anyone you think would enjoy something like this.

"Zombie Plow" Guy

Even if we assume this guy isn't just daydreaming about killing people with this thing, can someone explain how having this huge non-functional plow attached to that vehicle at that height is street legal?

Imagine the damage that thing could cause the moment he gets in a wreck now that he's completely nullified any shock absorption/crumple zone he had to his front bumper.

The drinking culture here is getting really hard to deal with in my late 20s

honestly just needing to vent because living here is starting to really wear on me. I love the river and the town but being in your late twenties in a place where literally every single social activity revolves around getting obliterated on the square is just exhausting

It feels like you cant even suggest grabbing food or a hike without someone turning it into an excuse to day drink. the pressure is just wild. A buddy of mine finally hit a wall with the whole central texas party scene and ended up going up near dallas to discovery point retreat a few months ago just to completely disconnect from the culture and get his head straight. Seeing him actually functional and calm now really put into perspective how chaotic our normal weekend routine actually is

I dont even want to go completely sober necessarily, Im just so tired of the expectation that we have to be pounding beers at zelicks every friday to have a social life. is anyone else feeling completely aged out of this town or am I just turning into a grumpy old man?

4th of July

What’s the best thing to do while in San Marcos? Do people do fireworks if they do where? First time in San Marcos for the fourth. What should we do?

Id like to take my kids to watch the fireworks, just not sure the best place to watch them from? Don't want to be worried about being towed or asked to leave. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Happy 4th everybody!

Property tax

Looking at homes in San Marcos and the property tax seems really high on alot of the homes, especially compared to other parts of Texas….

Just curious why this might be

Thanks

Gus’s chicken. Still the best chicken, still the worst service.

Walked in two minutes before a group of three walked in… I was sitting there and watched them walk in, I said to myself….. watch the waitress go to them first because they are a bigger party. And guess what….. she did.

Little did she know… I had 5 more coming that she didn’t ask about before. $125 bill.

God San mo service is always the same…. Trash.

Do better Gus’s.

Found Dog

This dog approached me and my dog this morning at the Palazzo Apartments on Wonder World. He looks to be a husky/retriever mix with orange/yellow eyes. He looked hungry so I left a bowl of food out for him. He seemed friendly enough but wouldn’t let me get closer than 5 feet from him. No collar. The Aussie is mine.

Feel free to share/repost or dm me if you think you know the owner.

I don’t think he belongs to anyone at the Palazzo, I haven’t seen him before.

Where to find a character impersonator?

My bf's bday is next month and I think it would be really funny to hire a doflamingo impersonator for his party. Does anyone have any leads so I may achieve this? Thanks a bunch!

Missing cat!! Please help!!

Hi guys!

My cat has been missing a little over a week. She went missing on the 19th of June from 1216 Chestnut Street.

She’s Siamese with one eye and a very skittish demeanor, she’s also quite small and good at hiding (unfortunately)

She has stomatitis which requires medication, because of it she has no teeth and has a hard time grooming, so she might look dirty, but she’s not a stray!

We had a tip that she was sighted a few days ago behind the duplexes along Windmill Dr. we’d really really appreciate if anyone in the area would keep an eye out for her. If you are in the area or know someone in the area, if yall have ring cameras and wouldn’t mind looking at the footage, we would be forever grateful!

Also, there’s a $500 reward for any tip that leads to her rescue but any tip at all is absolutely appreciated! Advice also!

Thanks so much. She’s our baby and this has been an incredibly stressful and difficult experience. we love her so much and just want to see her home safe

Hello, I have an inexpensive Tag Heyer that needs a new battery. Couldn’t find anyone online, so anyone recommend a place in Hays county?

If you just got hit by a large sign flying off a trailer on 35 today (June 26), I was right behind it (language warning)

Figured someone might need this footage for insurance purposes. That sign really went flying and this could have been a lot worse. Sorry I wasn't able to get the license plate number. It looked like the truck driver was going to pull over next to the DMV/McCoy's, but he was actually making a run for it and wasn't anywhere to be found when I looped around to check.

Fly Tying meetup

I heard through the grapevine that there is a group that meets up at a bar and fly tie. I was wanting to join and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it.
