As everyone who works here knows, starting May 29th instead of a 20-minute paid break you have to clock out and take a 30-minute break. We were all upset when we first heard about this because we would be losing 30 minutes of wages a day. However the black shirt manager who told us about the pay bump of $4 an hour and the break policy change told us that, and she was reading from a paper, that when the new policy started schedules will be adjusted to work a half hour later. That way we wouldn't lose a half hour of wages everyday. I just checked my schedule, and it's busy so I'm scheduled 47 and a half hours after the breaks are deducted from the total, but my schedule isn't extended 30 minutes further than normal. Three of the days they have me coming in 9:00 p.m. and leaving at 6:00. And then two of the days they have me coming in 10:00 p.m. to 6:00. Hopefully this is just a screw-up from the manager who I asked today before I left if we would be coming in a half hour early or leaving a half hour late and she said she wasn't sure if she had to do that schedule and still hadn't done it. Anyone else see that their schedules are not extended a half hour longer? Like I said, the manager who told us about the change literally was reading off a paper and said for example if someone is scheduled 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. they're scheduled to be extended to 6:30 a.m.. so hopefully the manager who was out of town for a while just did it wrong?
Also, I work in the deli usually in bakery, and on the two days they have me coming in at 9:00 p.m. they have me scheduled to take my break at 11:00 p.m. That's insane. I have to get my break 2 hours into my shift then work the rest of the night without a break? I'm not sure they thought this policy through very well. Before you could take your break anytime you wanted to. Sometimes I would get there at 10:00 and literally take my break at 11:00 because I was super hungry and hadn't had dinner. Sometimes I would take it at 2:00 a.m.. and what's crazy is three of the days this week I'm scheduled 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and they have me taking my break 3:30 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.. so they want me to work nearly my entire shift before I get to take a break? A break that ends a mere 2 hours before I leave for the day? And if you're in bakery, there's no way on God's green earth you can leave for a half hour from 3:30 to 4:00 a.m. because that's literally when g&g and Tru starts all the breakfasts switch over. And the pastry counter gets their items by 350 a.m. at the latest. In fact, most nights if I'm in bakery I have to take my break around 1:30 a.m. to time my break with baking muffins which take 55 minutes. If you try to take it any other time, you have a bunch of stuff in the oven that you have to wait to take out. And the timing just doesn't work out if you try to do it outside of that period.
I'm off for 3 days, and I checked my schedule when it was posted I just thought I had to mention this to other buc-ee's people.

There are at least 4 SMH moments here, IMHO.
Out of morbid curiosity, I gotta drop it here and see what y'all think of it all.
