So… UNT is asking me for a SAT or TSI exemption for my math because I applied to the school with a bad math score (430) on my SAT. Since then, I retook the SAT and got a 510 on my math. The SAT exemption is a 530. Im extremely pissed and idek what a TSI is because our school never mandated or talked about it. I’m genuinely so mad because I need to submit an exemption so that I can do course enrollment. Should I just submit the 510… it said something about taking the TSI at a testing facility but like are you serious…. I studied my ass off for a better SAT math score and got an almost 100 point boost… math has never been my strongest suit and the SAT is just stupid. What should I do?
My professor for a summer class will be relying on Canvas’s AI detection system. Despite the fact that I do not use AI for assignments, I worry about an inaccurate percentage of AI use, and therefore a lower grade. What (free) websites do you guys use for AI detection so I can double check my work before submitting? I wish professors would stop relying on these often incorrect scanners.
Heidi Elmendorf, who is Deputy Advisor to President Keller, and who was his buddy from their days together at Georgetown, was granted tenure as an Associate Professor by the UNT Board of Regents at their February 2026 meeting (p.64).
Question
Why does an advisor to the president need tenure? According to the UNT BoR, tenure is supposed to "1. assure the faculty of freedom of teaching, research, opinion, and full participation as citizens in the academic community." As advisor to the president, why does she need this protection and a guarantee of a job for life?
Compare the write up of the other person granted UNT tenure at the same time by the UNT BoR, which is Mark Traynor of College of Merchandising. Importantly, there is specific mention of 16 publications and a million dollars in grants. This is the kind of evidence we want to see in an expedited tenure decision.
Giving tenure to Heidi Elmendorf, so she can serve as advisor to President Keller, looks like bad cronyism. Is President Keller going to get tenure for his other advisors too? I'm not sure this is the best use of tenure or taxpayer dollars.

I’m starting unt this fall with a major in recreation even and sports management I like the careers the major offer just nervous on starting college again and advice on my major and starting school at unt in general ?
Hi! I'm transferring to UNT this fall, but housing is waitlisted. I was wondering what it's like to live in the off-campus apartments. I'm already terribly isolated. I have only one friend due to social anxiety, but I was hoping to break out of that by living on campus. I imagine that living on campus means I have the opportunity to bump into the same people and I know they are fellow students, and I am closer to being in the loop of when things happen. Fun dorm activities too? Idrk. Living in the dorms just always seemed like the college experience. Anyway, seeing that it might not be possible, will it be difficult to make friends/stay in the loop if I live off-campus? I guess I'm probably the only one who can answer that because it probably depends on what I do, but I want to ask anyway. I really don't want to spend the rest of my college years alone.
Was just looking at the average cost of attendance for the school year and was wondering my logic is correct. I’m just wondering because my parents will pay for my education nd I just want to give them a look into how much they will be paying roughly (I’m kinda bad at explaining things so bear with me please)
Living expenses and tuition/fees seems to be pretty straightforward. Around 24k for both.
Books and supplies are about 1k and transportation + personal another 4k.
Is it unreasonable to assume that my parents will only pay the 24k and I can pay the rest or is that wrong.
Also, if I live at home and commute, with my current logic, my parents will only pay ~15k a year since living expenses will be 0 and transportation and personal I can pay for myself. Is my logic logicing or am I completely off, please let me know 🙏🙏🙏
i want to plug my laptop in so I can have a big screen for powerpoints and writing notes, but every time I turn them on its stuck to spongebob or some other stupid shit like is this what yall watch
Hey everyone,
I’m transferring from UTA to UNT as a Biomedical Engineering student and I’m almost in my senior year. Due to scholarship/financial issues I unfortunately have to transfer, and honestly I’m pretty nervous about it.
How are the biomedical engineering classes, professors, and advisors at UNT? And is there anything I should know before transferring?
I really didn’t want to start over this late, so any advice would help a lot. Thank you !
guys i’m given an option to take accounting 2020 this summer but i would need an A so it could fit my gpa requirement and let me pass onto the next level in fall.
or i was given the option to try to get a B in accounting 2020 and retake another class i passed and get a B on that one as well in order to move onto the next level.
super frustrating. i feel really delayed right now.
i struggled with accounting 2010 and failed last semester but i passed this semester with a C and passed the final exam. so i feel confident but pretty traumatized by last semester and the amount of effort i put in this semester..
can anyone tell me how accounting 2020 is and if it’s easier than 2010? any professors you recommend?
i’m thinking if i should just go for it this semester and try to get A but idk abt all that. i just really don’t wanna delay my fall semester by doing option b. but it is a lot safer..
i appreciate all the help, advices, etc :)
Like just for fun. Not looking for tournaments like intramural sports. Are there groups in any social media for sports playing in the evenings and weekends?
Betting on UNT program closures on Kalshi....I thought I've seen it all.
I’m trying to book this statistics class, but I’m not able to book 410 and 415 which I need to. I’m not sure what to do 😭
Summer aid hasn’t been disbursed and I need to purchase books as I have a quiz coming up that require the workbook…. anddddd gas ⛽️🥴 scrappy says to apply for emergency loan using the money management center but the emergency loan states it can’t be used for books…….. What the actual f*** 😒😒😒😒😭😭😭😭
in course listing, all HIST 2620 sessions that come up are Internet classes. I don't have any filters set. ?
I am currently living near campus for the summer and was wondering if I could rent out a laptop even though I’m not enrolled for summer but I am enrolled for fall?
I have been trying for quite sometime to access the award letter but I always end up with this message "Check back later. We do not have any record of Award Letter communications at this time". I really need this document is there any way I can access it. Have other people been facing this issue too?
Arizona recently crawled out of a $177-million budget hole of its own making — a result of flawed forecasting and inadequate communication. The announcement of a “financial crisis” was a shocking diagnosis for a big university in a growing state, seemingly the kind of institution that should be thriving.
Two years later, officials insist that the campus is thriving, that the shortfall has been resolved, and that ballooning class sizes are a thing of the past. ...

Hello. I was recently admitted to UNT for my master's degree as an international student and received the out-of-state tuition waiver. I wanted to ask about the estimated cost of attendance on the I-20, the UNT international affairs website shows around $32,908 for the College of Health & Public Service. Is this the same figure that appears on the I-20, and how close is it to what you actually end up paying?
