What happened to flattop grill??

Did they seriously nuke the best tenders on campus? Did it just move somewhere else? I’m gonna mourn the loss of those curly fries and tenders. They got me through undergrad :,(

Publishing under my chosen name vs my legal name?

Hi there! I am a graduate student in biology currently working on my masters degree. I have gotten to work on a few of my colleagues projects, which have warranted me being included in the list of authors (yippee!). Obviously, this is very exciting as it’s essentially the first step in my career as a research scientist, but I’m having a hard time figuring out what to do with my name.

For context, I have not legally changed my name, so all my documents will have my birth name on them. Does anyone here have any experience with academia? I’d love some insight from people who know the long term effects my decision could have. I’m not sure I’m ever going to legally change my name, either. My parents really dislike my chosen name (Malachi), so that has been weighing on me as well. I’ve been using my chosen name consistently since 2020, and I still sometimes get self conscious about if it’s cringe tbh.

My worry is that I might publish under Malachi but later decide that it’s embarrassing and want to change to something else. At the same time, I get a bit sad thinking about having my academic achievements under my legal name, either.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I’m also totally open to hearing from folks outside of academia as well :) I think I just need some general outside perspective on this.

I’m a lil burnt out on zomboid after putting in wayyyy too many hours in a like a month or two lol. I’m looking for games with a similar level of granular mechanics that encourage real world logic.

My absolute favorite aspect of zomboid are the instances where you’re rewarded for applying real life problem solving to situations. I think it’s super neat and makes rp based play feel natural. I’d seriously love to know if there are any other survival or management games with a similar experience! Also open to hearing about any other games in general you like if you’re a fan of zomboid!
