Listening to it as I type this and I really can’t put my finger on how so many people universally dislike this song. To me it kicks serious ass with a badass riff, killer chorus and delightful outro.

I’d honestly go as far as to say I think it’s in the upper percentile of ab songs and I’d rank it about 5th in B-Sides (behind Breathe, Never Say Die, New Way to Live and Zero)

So that being said; why? Why do people dislike this song so much? What am I not hearing? Because all I hear is a badass song that IS a bit rough around the edges (which I think is forgivable considering the circumstances) but still manages to be a delightful listen.

The Cry of Achilles vid was made for the Contest back in ‘14 were it lost to the (now official) animated video.

The Ghost of Days Gone By vid seems to be made for love of the game and deffo deserves more views in my opinion.

Both are awesome and I just wanted to share em :)

I saw a lot of people on release say it was ai, but the style looks too “messy” imo- ai usually is cleaner. I think some of the animations in the video are using tweening or warping which can look like ai, especially with style of the video…

So, if not ai, who made it? It’s the only music video without any credits attached (I think). their other animated video, Silver Tongue, was made by Ollie Jones but this clearly isn’t his work.

So WHO???? Just curious :)

Words cannot express how much I love this song, man. The lyrics just hit me so hard… feeling used, exhausted, drained etc. hits close and cuts deep. I’d give some examples of lyrics I liked from the song, but they’re all so good it’d be a wrong of me to list only a few and not the whole thing. Lyrically it is my all time favorite Alter Bridge song alongside Farther Than The Sun.

Musically it is phenomenal as well of course. The riffing is great and has a lot of weight and punch to it which I admire a lot. Myles uses a bit of his stunning lower register for this song and it’s just breathtaking man. Easily the best track from ODR if you ask me.
