Mirror mirror
Mirror, mirror, into me you peer.
Mirror, mirror, the other is always near.
Mirror, mirror, I've swallowed a shadow to quiet my fear.
Mirror, mirror, whose heart do you steer?
Mirror, mirror, you hold everything dear.
Mirror, mirror, why does the other's gaze sear?
Mirror, mirror, why do they leer?
Yesterday's weather
Whispering fog on a morning anew,
Walking back through yesterday,
Naively thinking I was through.

Threads through the air,
Turning my face,
I still feel your stare.

Hope vainly washing away,
Darkness softly whispering,
Life isn't fair.

Crawling up my skin,
Swallowing your despair.
Reflection
Mirror, mirror, into me you peer.

Mirror, mirror, the other is always near.

Mirror, mirror, I've swallowed a shadow to quiet my fear.

The feeling of you
Your warmth slowly wrapping my throat.
Your heat sinking into me,
Grasping my heart, making it race.
I stop to catch my breath a moment,
Yet somehow crave another touch.
Every dawn I return to you,
Faithful as a prayer,
Desperate as an addict.
You hold me together
When the world would have me fall apart.
Perspective
Heavy is the life, gone before its time,
we replay it in the dark on a constant rewind.

Every detail sharp like glass in the mind,
trying to find where the moment first declined.

Feels like a fog that don’t ever lift,
like the air got thick and forgot how to shift.

They were here, then they weren’t, no warning, no drift,
just a silence in the shape of what used to exist.

And we hold that silence like it’s all there is,
like the world only moves when something breaks or gives.

Like every ending is the only thing that lives,
and we forget all the weight of the lives that it missed.
