Can I use dye na flow/acid dyes confidently on a white 100% silk dress?

Hello!

I’m looking to do some silk painting with dye na flow or acid dyes with thickener, and I’m wondering if it’s possible to do this on a commercial dress? The dress pictured is one of my favourites of the ones I’ve been looking at, I have a few I like which are all 100% silk and white.

I’m just wanting to understand: if I don’t know the production practices of a white silk satin dress, would it still be feasible to “paint” it, or if I need to look for completely virgin silk satin?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hello everyone🥰
It’s one of my best friend’s weeeing coming up, and I’m trying to put together my outfit. For context, it’s in high summer, there will be a ceilidh, I am very sweaty when doing 30s of movement and I’m a little overweight. I’m 5’3”, very curvy, short legs which touch in the middle at the top.

So my style is quite edgy/high fashion wannabe- I like interesting textures and shapes and silhouettes.

I’m struggling to find any second hand dresses that are interesting enough in shape and textures for me. My idea is to dye (already have polyester and natural fibre dyes) a satin mini(midi?asymmetrical midaxi?) dress, not as detailed as the photos obviously but it’ll be watercolour/cellular kinda pattern with the main colour being blue/green.
Because I will be dancing and jumping about, I was thinking of then layering under the dress either ruffled trousers (probably dyed some shade of blue), sheer mesh trousers, or maybe rhinestone fishnet trousers-not sure on these as might be uncomfortable I have adhd and I’ve not worn that kind of trouser before (it also kinda depends what I find from second hand sources!)

I have a few questions! Does this work? I don’t want to show up the bride! Im kinda known and expected to come out w a LEWK, and I don’t usually build entire outfits out of things I mostly don’t already have or know I would suit. But I’m an artist and I have grand designs that somehow tend to work out😹 reason for me looking for an outfit is because I gained weight and don’t fit any of my previous fun clothes and I’ve been living in my old trackies and athletic tops and I haven’t bought “new” clothes whilst I am this size

If it does work, which types of sheer trouser layer? I toyed with a tiered skirt also but the fun ones seemed to be quite poofy which would be a bit look at me I think, not appropriate. I’m thinking more of a sleek/effortless chic rather than I’m a debutant! Look! At what I’m wearing! And what length of satin dress and what neckline? I like a nice high neck, cowl, or v neck- I look very wide with boat neck or straight across necklines, I’ve also got a large tattoo on my L upper chest and a full sleeve from mid clavicle on my R arm which I’m quite keen to show off! Also I’ll be going for a backless style too. As for shoes- I’ve got one pair of heels (black patent platform boots haha) so will wear those for the ceremony n pictures and then I’ll be putting on my everyday trainers, like turquoise Salomons ASAP

Any other ideas? Advice? Opinions? Musings?
Thank you 🧡
