I feel like a background friend.
My bestfriend and I have been friends for a little over 10 years now. Over the years I have realized she’s only stayed at my house twice when we were younger and we never have hung-out outside her house unless it was an errand run. At first , I took t a step back to see if i was overreacting but the past two years have showed me I am the background friend. She has stayed over at other friend’s houses and has even went out to eat and fun places. She always calls me afterwards and tells me how we should go out and do something fun but every time I mention something. I get told “ girl im broke”. She will text me “ I miss you” but lives 15 mins away.
In conclusion, I see the way she treats her other friends vs our friendship and Im confused on how we’re bestfriends when she does bestfriend stuff with other people .I also want to add i dont mind hangouts at her house but when i see her going out with other people after telling me she couldnt with me makes me feel like she’s embarrassed to be seen with me..
