Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some advice while I organise a vet appointment for my Staffy, Luna.

She has been receiving a Cytopoint injection every month for her allergies, and we wash her with Pyhohex every 3 days as recommended. Despite this, she’s developed a red rash around her neck, under her ears, and the base of her ears.

The rash looks like small red bumps and patches of inflamed skin, with a little bit of crusting in some areas. She has also had waxy/smelly ears on and off. I can’t tell if this is a staph infection, yeast, allergies flaring up despite the Cytopoint, or something else entirely.

Has anyone had a similar experience with their Staffy? If so:

• What did it end up being?
• Did Cytopoint stop working for your dog?
• Did your dog need antibiotics, antifungals, allergy testing, a diet change, or a different treatment plan?

I’ve attached photos of Luna’s neck and ears. She’s otherwise acting like herself, eating and drinking normally, and it doesn’t seem to be an emergency, but I’m worried because it keeps happening despite the Cytopoint and medicated washes.

Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated. ❤️🐾
