Currently struggling to get through the books

So I’ve read The Hobbit twice now. Struggled a bit on the first, but then the second only took me a few days.

I’m trying to get through Fellowship but have only ever made it as far as Fog on the Barrow-downs (so not far at all lol).

I think it’s due to a few different reasons (none of which are lack of trying or that I don’t absolutely love the lore, movies or stories). I wouldn’t say I’m the smartest person, so some of the language confuses me a bit. I’m also not the fastest reader. Worst of all, I get annoyed at myself because I’m reading it so slowly, which unfortunately just causes me to give up.

Are there any other readers out there who maybe have also struggled who can give some advice? I take it this isn’t the type of story you should be rushing through anyway, but when you’re having to put the book down to google a saying or word almost every page it just gets a bit frustrating hahaha

Treacy’s wayward goal kicking

I’ve noticed something about his set shots on goals, especially the ones that miss. They always gain such insane altitude, to the point that it seems it often reaches the top of the goal posts. Could that have something to do with the inaccuracy?

I’ve not played the game myself, but I imagine putting such power behind it would offset the accuracy a bit, as well as the fact that the wind is probably a bit worse up there too right?

Sorry if this is an obvious thing (or viceversa and means absolutely nothing), just something I noticed last night and have thought back to previous games too. Never played footy myself so dunno if this means anything or not haha

need to up my grip strength by about 3-4kg

As the title says, I need to get my grip strength on my left hand up from about 36/37 to minimum 40. I have a test coming up on Monday. Is this something that’s reasonably doable?

I did this a few weeks ago which is how I know I was at about 37. I had a few other physical stuff so I might have been a bit tired at the time.

I just bought a grip strength thing, if I kinda just go ham on that will it help or will I risk overworking myself?

This is for a job which I really need to get, I’d really appreciate any help

Does a tackle being broken still count as a tackle on the AFL app?

David King on Fireball yesterday said “Fremantle just could not tackle Hawks, they had 20 broken tackles”

Freo had more tackles (while also having more possession). Just wondering if it’s just King having a bad take, or if 20 of those 58 tackles shouldn’t be counted

What’s it like being a bus driver?

Possibly interested in becoming a bus driver, wondering what people’s experience is? Anyone here near the rockingham area?

I’m in WA, never done fifo before but really interested in it. Want to go as some sort of bus/truck driver. Which HR license would you say is worth it? If I go for the road ranger one, can I drive the other two?

Also, to my understanding, they generally don’t take on completely new people in fifo straight away, and I’d probably have to get some sort of local job first. Is that accurate?

Like genuinely, when I think it’s David commentating, it’s Jason. When I think it’s Jason, it’s David. Can’t only be me right?

Obviously things were floating around and it seemed we were trying to get one of or both of these stars. Who would you drop and would we almost be a lock in for the flag with them?

Personally, I still think we need a solid replacement for when pearce, B cox or ryan gets injured
